"Great group to work with. High level of craftsmanship, design and project management. I recommend them for any mid to high end kitchen remodel. We left on vacation and turned our home over to them, with no regrets and high praise for their efforts. As the owner Mike said, we don’t get call backs….they did it right the first time."

"As part of our replacing carpet with LVP flooring, we had to reconfigure a handrail with spindles. The spindles had to be removed from the underlayment, a plate needed to be installed, and the spindles needed to be reinstalled. There was some trim work which was needed on the stairwell side of the handrail as well. The really hard part was that it had to be done with very little lead time. Aaron and Bonnie came and reviewed the project with us, talked about our options, worked up a very acceptable quote, and gave us a date for their work. The whole project took them less than a day and was done to perfection. (We were uncertain at the time as to how we would finish the wood, so that was not included in their scope of work.) Their work was precise, on time, and affordable. Watching them work together was a fun side-benefit. Good people. We would highly recommend Aaron Custom Carpentry for projects such as ours. Thank you, Aaron and Bonnie!"

Customers say: Quality work

"Mr. Bylers did our cabinets and island for a large kitchen remodel about 7 years ago. The quality is top notch. Mr. Byler is a consummate professional and amazing cabinet maker. You will not be disappointed! Very highly recommend. We downsized this year and the hardest part was leaving the kitchen. We may remodel the kitchen we now have, if we decide to we will definitely use them again."

Small jobs welcome

"Clayton, Tiffany and team were amazing in all parts of working with them. We hired a different kitchen remodel company at first and it was a complete nightmare. I ended up firing the 1st company due to lack of work, quality of work, and no one showing up. This was a very tough decision to make since it was 2 weeks before Thanksgiving. I made some calls around and found KC Dream Kitchen and explained my situation to them. They let me know it was something that is normally out of their scope of work since they were going to have to come in and fix the previous contractors mistakes and they had to use the vendors I already purchased materials from. On November 8th I called KC Dream Kitchen to see if they could come out and look at my nightmare project. November 9th Clayton and his Project manager Gordon. They saw the scope of the project and took the time to let me know what they would have to redo from the previous contractor mistakes. When I was talking with them both I asked is it possible to have a functional kitchen for Thanksgiving. They let me know it would be tight but they felt up to the task. After doing more research on this company we decided to give them a chance and it turned out to be the best decision we ever made in this project. Sunday November 12th promise start date. Had 2 guys show up to fix the window that was installed off center from previous contractor. The window and siding turned out even better than we imagined. Monday November 13th a team of 4 showed up on time and started work. My wife and I couldn't believe the amount of mistakes the first contractors made. After day one they left and my house in the remodel area was cleaner than when they showed up to start work. Each day after they are done working they took the time to clean up so they could have a clean work space to start the next day. The crew showed up everyday during the week on time and we could see progression each day which the previous company we never saw. Fast forward to the Wednesday before Thanksgiving they have a crew of 13 people at my house trying to give me a functional kitchen which we had. When I say functional I wasn't wanting a completed kitchen because I knew that would be unrealistic . The first contractor I hired had my kitchen for 6 weeks and promise date was completion in 5 weeks. Out of those 6 weeks of having him they had 8 days were no one even showed up for work. When I fired the original company I would say they were only 40% complete on the job probably less but we did have most materials bought already. Do your research on hiring contractors as some of the reviews on Angi's list are not accurate. Plus don't always believe a contractor when it seems to good to be true. After 3 weeks of having KC Dream Kitchen as our contractor we had a completed kitchen we love! We have renewed faith that there are some good contractors out there! Their crews show up on time, clean at end of everyday, communicate next steps, do quality work, work with great vendors for fabrication, use quality materials, and don't over charge. If I could give this company more stars I would. If you have a kitchen remodel look no further as I would recommend this company to anyone and everyone. I can't thank Clayton, Tiffany and Team for saving my families Holiday Season! Top notch company!"

"Randy was just awesome! He was very knowledgeable and very kind. I called him around 10 am after having a new refrigerator delivered. I explained that I needed some help with the water line that connects to the ice maker/water dispenser. He explained over the phone what likely needed to happen and then told me that he would get back with me in a couple of hours. I gave him my address and info and sure enough--2 hours later he comes, takes a look at what I need done, went to the hardware store, and bought what was needed. He then came back and installed everything and spent a good deal of time talking to me about installing our gutters. He's very friendly and I would not hesitate to call him again if we need work done on our house or remodeling. The quality of service we received definitely exceeded the price we paid to hire him. Randy, if you see this, thanks again very much for all of your help today!"

Cabinet Making questions, answered by experts

There are some tips when hiring a cabinet installer that’ll help prepare you to create a new space. When installing new cabinets, keep the following in mind:

  • Hire the same cabinet installer professional to measure, design, and install the cabinets, as opposed to jumping between companies.

  • Discuss what types of cabinets the installer offers, including stock, semi-custom, and custom, to give yourself options.

  • Discuss financing options with your installer, as this project can be expensive depending on your chosen cabinets.

  • Discuss your cabinet installer’s prior experience, including asking for photos of previous projects.

There are three primary ways to attach upper kitchen cabinets to a wall, and installers may use more than one method at a time. The most common method is to drive screws through the back of the cabinets and into studs in the wall behind. Sometimes cabinets are glued to the wall with strong adhesive. Often a combination of screws and adhesive is desirable. The last way is by hanging the cabinets on hardware brackets that attach to the wall before cabinet installation.

Installing cabinet toe kicks after installing flooring is common, as this produces a sleek, streamlined appearance along the cabinetry bases. The toe kick is a cabinetry term for the covered, recessed areas at the cabinet’s base that let you stand closer to the counter more comfortably by making room for your toes.

There’s no strict rule about which way cabinet doors should open, but generally, double cabinet doors should open away from each other. With single doors, you want to avoid having them block your path or swing into  areas where people need to stand. Some kitchens are angled so that cabinet doors may crash into something no matter which way they swing, but the methods above can help prevent damage.

Some municipalities require permits for wall-mounted furniture installations, particularly when structural modifications are necessary. Always make sure to check local building codes before starting your Murphy bed installation project. Your Murphy bed installer will be familiar with local codes and handle the permitting process, ensuring your project complies with all relevant regulations.
