"I first used Marshall Albertson's excellent services at my previous home.  He was hired to install wide plank pine flooring in my living room after my retired-union-carpenter husband had installed it everywhere else.  My husband was not able to complete the job due to illness and was prepared to dislike the work of the young man who was finishing it. That didn't work out so well because Marshall is an expert at installing flooring.  He knows what he's doing and he does it well.  He earned a lot of respect on that job.  Later he installed carpeting and tile in several other areas of the house.  Watching him install carpeting is like watching a magician, and watching him install wood is like watching an artist at work.

"They are excellent at what they do, very professional, and very punctual. The owner Chris, from the beginning, has been very detailed for what work needed to be done, costs of materials, and have been pretty punctual on the amount of days/hours that the work would take. The best part is there are no "unexpected" prices or last minute work which is very convenient!"

Carpet Stretching questions, answered by experts

Yes, carpeted stairs are generally considered safer than stairs with hard surfaces like wood, vinyl, or tile. Carpet provides more traction, which helps reduce the chances of slips and falls, and its cushioning can lessen the severity of an injury if a fall does occur. Hard surfaces often lack the friction needed for a secure tread and can be quite slippery.

However, it's worth noting that some carpets can also be slick, particularly if they are brand new, dirty, or made from certain materials. If any stair surface feels too slippery, traction treads can be added to most materials to increase grip and improve safety.

Bumps, wrinkles, or detachment often require stretching for smoothness.

If you live in a region with high humidity, carpet bubbling can occur regularly. A dehumidifier can help keep your carpet flat during the most humid months.

An Oriental rug should last between 50 and 100 years, on average, but yours could last much longer than a century if you care for it properly. There are many factors that affect the lifespan of an Oriental rug, though. Increased foot traffic, exposure to moisture, exposure to UV light and sunlight, and aggressive cleaning can all limit how long your rug will last.

Maintenance practices include regular vacuuming, prompt spill cleaning, and periodic professional deep-cleaning to remove embedded dirt particles and rejuvenate fibers.
