"The service went well. Two technicians came out and completed the cleaning in an hour or two. They cleaned the bedroom, hallway and step carpets. The carpets looked pretty good after the service. I had no problem scheduling the deal."

Amazing. I have had  many contractors do various jobs, from all price ranges.  Very rarely do they even get get a C in my book.  Most companies do things half way, don't care about their work.

I bought my flooring through Lowes and they subcontracted through Murphy's carpet.

These guys EXCEEDED my expectations.

There were tons of small cut outs- detailed areas.

I could tell when I met the guy he was going to a good job by the comments he was making.

I would recommend these guys over anyone!!!  I tell everyone. I have rarely found quality workmanship in the 15 years I have been a home owner.

A++++ Thanks Murphy's !!! My basement is beautiful!

"Terry came on March 13th and almost immediately zeroed in on the probability that I had mold originating around my bathtub and suggested I buy a mold kit to apply and send for analysis. I took a while to do that, but I received mold-positive results. Although I chose to go with another provider, I so appreciate Terry's observation and suggestion, especially since the first company rep who came to appraise didn't notice the mold at all. Terry did give me a ballpark figure of $8,500 - $10,000 for a complete gutting of my tiny bathroom, and I'll never know where on that spectrum I would have ended up, but, again, I'm rating BB Contracting and Remodeling highly because Terry gave me such good advice."

Carpet Stretching questions, answered by experts

Hiring a pro to stretch a carpet costs anywhere from $100 to $300, though this price increases if you also task the contractor to remove and replace the furniture from the room. Doing it on your own maxes out at $100, though renting the power stretcher and knee kicker extend the cost in some instances.

The correct method to fix bubbling carpet depends on the cause. If the bubbles are caused by moisture, drying out the carpet can help flatten it. Otherwise, a pro might need to restretch or reinstall the carpet to fix the issue.

Standard padding works like a sponge. It absorbs liquid, soaking up every drop of moisture that hits it. Moisture barrier padding does the opposite because it has a waterproof coating made of plastic film, rubber, or treated foam. It doesn’t absorb spills and keeps them on the surface instead, so you can clean them up before they damage your subfloor.

You can save money on labor costs by removing your old carpet before the professionals come in to install the new carpet. Just make sure to clear it with your contractor ahead of time. You might also be able to cut costs by buying carpet at certain times of year when it’s less expensive. These periods include late December to mid-January and late spring to early summer.

Maintenance practices include regular vacuuming, prompt spill cleaning, and periodic professional deep-cleaning to remove embedded dirt particles and rejuvenate fibers.
