"Midwest Tree Surgeons LLC did an unbelievable job, best priced quote and they were able to do it 48 hrs after accepting the quote. They trimmed the entire oak tree and took down a cypress tree that was in front of the oak at street level. They will definitely be the first one I call with any future tree workâ ¦unbelievable l! The professionalism and friendliness of the staff is second to none!"

"Victor and his team were exceptional. The trimming needs were carefully analyzed as dangerous tree limbs were removed from two very large oak trees thus preventing damage to two homes and garage. All remaining debris including some very large limbs were removed from the property. A and M Tree services exceeded my expectations. I would definitely hire them again in the future. Monica B. "Coorley and his team did an amazing job clearing all the weeds, debris, and poison ivy from our 7,000 foot double lot! They worked quickly, efficiently (completed job in about 2 days with 3-4 people working), and made everything look immaculate. We will be hiring them again for annual Spring/Fall cleanups and also to install a privacy fence around our backyard. Thank you!!!!"

"I hired them to trim my hedge, take out some patio ties and remove roots from the old plants. Also, they trimmed the lower branches from my trees. I was very pleased. They arrived on time and did a great job! I highly recommend them."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Transporting a fully-grown tree requires heavy equipment, typically specialized for the task. A tree spade is a truck-mounted tool that removes the tree from the ground in one location, transports it, and places it in a new hole in a new location. A combination of mechanized shovels and lifts is necessary to move very large trees, and the exact tools often depend on location and the surrounding area.

Getting a tree pro with the right experience can be the difference between your transplanted tree surviving or not. When hiring a local tree transplanting and removal service, follow up on references, check their portfolio, ask for a breakdown of the costs, and get proof of liability and workers’ compensation insurance.

Also, look for companies certified by the International Society of Arboriculture or registered with the Tree Care Industry Association and make sure they have an appropriate state or city license.

A few signs a tree may be dead is if the leaves are dead and there are no signs of new blooms. You can also perform a scratch test on some of the branches to check the condition of the cambium layer beneath the bark.

If it is green, it is still alive, but if several are dry, brittle, and brown, the tree may be dying or dead. Always consult an arborist before assuming your tree is dead because you may be able to save it.

Trimming your palm trees once or twice per year keeps them healthy and robust. Caring for palm trees includes cutting off brown leaves to prevent wildfires and pathway obstruction. However, you don’t want to over-trim the palm tree. Cutting too many branches off will weaken the tree and prevent future growth. And it’s essential to have a strong, healthy palm tree during hurricane season to prevent safety risks or property damage.

It takes anywhere from three to seven years for a stump to decompose on its own. This timeframe can depend on the kind of tree and your climate. The lower to the ground the stump is, the faster it rots. If you kill a tree stump with salt, boiling water, herbicide, light deprivation, or burning, the tree stump decomposes faster.
