"Noah and Crew actually built a Pole Barn for me. It’s 30’x48’ with attic trusses. They did an amazing job, it’s actually so nice I wish we didn’t cover it in tin metal! Perfectly square and amazing craftsmanship. Noah is very talented and trustworthy. I will most definitely be using him for other projects that we have. I’m also going to have him install a tin roof on my 1907 House. Thank you Noah and God Bless you Brother!"

"We hired J & H Mid Mo Concrete after shopping around for a reputable company that offered a price we budgeted for. Jonny was our point of contact and he was terrific. He was o. Time and accessible whenever we needed him. He was also very clear with his plan and kept our vision as his own. We appreciate the work his team did and most of all, we love the new driveway and would most definitely hire him. I recommend J & H and wouldn’t hesitate (and haven’t! ) to recommend them to friends and family. Thank you so much for exceeding our expectations!"

"Johnny and his crew were professional, polite, on time, and thorough in demolition and replacing our concrete walk. They were neat/tidy in preparation and clean up. Even though our project wasnâ t t big in scale, Johnny was quick to respond with the estimate and follow up to set an appointment. Great communication throughout so we knew what to expect. The end result looks great!"

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

The decision to repair or replace your driveway depends on the extent of the damage. If your driveway has a few small cracks, a simple repair will do the trick. If you see larger cracks and potholes, it may be time to consider resurfacing or replacement. Resurfacing is a great option if more than 25% of the surface is damaged, but if the damage is extensive—deep cracks or significant sinking—it’s best to replace the driveway entirely. A new driveway, with proper care, can last decades while patching or resurfacing might only hold up for a few years before needing more attention.

New asphalt goes through two stages: drying and curing. Drying typically takes 24 to 72 hours, after which the surface is solid enough for light use like walking or careful driving. While you may be able to park on it after 72 hours, the surface is still soft and should be treated gently. Full curing is a much longer process, taking anywhere from 30 days to a full year for the asphalt to reach maximum strength. During this extended curing period, the asphalt is susceptible to damage from heavy vehicles, sharp objects, and high temperatures. Factors like weather, the specific asphalt mix, and application thickness all influence drying and curing times. For the most accurate timeline and to ensure the longevity of your new asphalt, it is always best to consult with your installation contractor for their specific recommendations.

Asphalt is not a type of concrete. While both are a common type of pavement, asphalt is composed of aggregates (like sand and gravel) and bitumen; concrete is a mixture of cement, aggregates, and water. Here are some of the key differences between asphalt and concrete driveways.

Wet cutting is usually the preferred method. It controls dust, which helps protect your lungs and makes for a cleaner working environment. Plus, the water cools the blade, preventing overheating and prolonging its life while providing smoother, more precise cuts. The downside is the mess—water and asphalt sludge can be messy to clean. Dry cutting, though convenient if water isn’t available, creates a lot of dust, which can be harmful. This also increases the risk of blade damage due to overheating. So, if you have the option, wet cutting is the better method for most asphalt jobs.

Regular sealing, crack filling, and professional inspections help extend pavement lifespan and prevent costly repairs.
