"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Rustic Heat did a fantastic job installing my new wood-burning fireplace insert and a new flue. Their work was professional, clean, and done right the first time. I was so impressed that I signed up for their $400 annual cleaning and inspection plan to keep everything in top shape. Highly recommend Rustic Heat — they really know what they’re doing!"

"Prompt. Worked quickly. Chimney was cleaned as well as the fire box. Only issue was ash left on the white brick hearth and some on floor. Will hire him again."

"He did a very good job.  He took off some extra branches to help the overall shape of the trees and removed branches that could potentially give us problems in the future if we had storms, etc. He had a helper who cleaned up the branches, etc. and did an excellent job.  Also, cut up some of the larger branches for firewood, which we can use."

Fireplaces questions, answered by experts

Bioethanol fireplaces are safe when users follow the instructions and maintain the fireplace. Ethanol is flammable, however, and should be kept away from flammable surfaces, children, and pets.

Creosote logs can help to reduce new creosote build-up by about 60%, however they don’t replace regular cleaning. While creosote logs can help to prevent build-up of creosote in your chimney, they won’t remove build-up that’s already there. Creosote logs can be used as a preventative measure in conjunction with regular cleaning, but you will still need to clean your chimney about once per year.

Most cleanings take 1-3 hours, but extensive soot buildup or liner damage may require additional time.

Your chimney needs a structurally sound chimney cap, protective lining, damper, chimney flashing, and brick and mortar to prevent water from goind down your chimney. A pro can help you identify where the issue is so that you can stop water from coming down the smoke shaft, through your damper, and into your home.

Chimney sweeps perform three levels of inspections:

  1. Level One: This is a basic annual inspection, often a visual inspection during cleaning, which is the most affordable.

  2. Level Two: This stage is ideal when selling or buying a home as it involves an inspection of the attic and roof, which is moderately priced.

  3. Level Three: This is a very thorough inspection that should take place after major storms or earthquakes, which is the most costly type of inspection.
