"They exceeded my expectations! The painting turned out awesome and they went above and beyond. They paint-matched some exterior doors and trim, patched a couple of bad spots in the ceiling (with texture), removed wallpaper, and mudded some walls to even out spots. They do great work! Would recommend and will use again!!!"

"I hired AW Painting for several projects inside my house. I had had water damage in the basement, so I needed the ceiling painted and several walls painted. I also wanted wallpaper stripped out of a guest bath and the walls painted, trim fixed, caulked and painted in my master bath, and an accent wall painted in the kitchen. First of all, Alvin gave me a very detailed, written quote, which I appreciated. He also helped me talk through the type of paint I wanted to use, colors that would look good, etc. After all that had been decided, Alvin began working. He is very meticulous and takes great pride in his work. He's extremely detail-oriented, and it's obvious his goal is to do the very best possible work for his client. For example, when doing my accent wall in the kitchen (which was a tomato red color), he felt that he needed to apply a third coat, even though I couldn't detect any imperfections after the second coat. The trim in my bathroom looks like new. I have no idea how he was able to transform it from the mess it was! I also was very appreciative of how neat Alvin was while he worked. He minimized the messes and was careful to clean up after he was done. I am very impressed with his work and will hire him again for my painting needs."

"We hired Sissi company to first remove mold from our roof shaded by a big tree. Lewis did a great job and sprayed chlorine in the end to kill the mold that were hard to remove. We then hired him to paint our outside wooden wall. Lewis painted quite carefully and respected and accommodated our requests. After this work done, he did basement waterproofing project for us as well. It saved our basement from flooding during this winter. In the end, Lewis also fixed our water sink sewage pipe and several lights in the house. Lewis is also a very friendly guy and he charged reasonably. I strongly recommend him."

"The finished product was excellent. They made it look like a brand new room. They sent out 3 men and they worked very hard. The only complaint was that I had to provide the materials, which was very confusing to me at the home improvement store, not knowing what half of the stuff was. The work was beautiful and they tried hard to contain the dust, and worked every day straight through."

"They were very professional and nice. I kind of felt double-teamed - two guys showed up in two separate trucks. They wanted to put 13 piers around my house to fix the problem. The price for a pier is not a bad thing but it seemed an awfully extreme fix for what I had asked them to come out for. I?ve gotten their calls weekly possibly from the guy wanting to know if we had made any decisions yet on what we were going to do. I think they are a harder sell maybe than the other ones I talked to. We have had a couple of people tell us that there is no way we need that extensive work done, so I would probably not consider using them."

"Jim was very helpful and creative. He was willing to work with me to figure out how to solve the problems. I planned to tear the old floor out of the bathroom to keep costs down, but when I ran into trouble he helped me and even did some cutting so I could remove one of the layers of floor. He didn't charge me for it, he just jumped in and gave me a hand. He did that sort of thing the whole time he was there. If he saw me struggling with a project I was working on he would use his strength or expertise to get me through a rough spot. He worked fast and didn't feel like I had to watch over him. But when we went to discount stores to serch for materials he didn't seem to be in a hurry at all. I was worried that he would feel I was wasting his time but he seemed to enjoy being there too. I paid for materials, his bid was just for labor but we went in his truck and he spent time with me picking out the materials and he hauled them back to the work site. In the end I gave him $25 more than he billed me for for all the extra help he gave me."

Wallpaper Removal questions, answered by experts

Removing wallpaper can be easy if you have a non-coated wallpaper, but most homeowners have vinyl-coated wallpaper, which is more durable but tears very easily during the removal process. This feature makes it challenging and time-consuming to remove most wallpaper. There are tools to speed up the process, like steamers, but, unfortunately, it’s easy to permanently damage your walls when using them. In most cases, it’s best to hire a professional wallpaper remover to get the job done quickly and without damaging your home.

Yes, many types of peel-and-stick wallpaper can be used in bathrooms, especially those made of vinyl or polyester. However, its success depends heavily on the level of moisture and ventilation. In bathrooms with good ventilation, such as those with fans, it can be a durable option. Peel-and-stick wallpaper may not adhere as well as traditional wallpaper in very humid conditions. For bathrooms that see a lot of moisture, like a kids' bathroom or a full bath with a steamy shower and poor ventilation, even high-quality peel-and-stick wallpaper is likely to peel over time.

Limewash can be removed from brick, but the method of removal will depend on how long the limewash has been on the brick. If the limewash has fully dried—which happens after about five days—you’ll need to use a diluted muriatic acid mixture to remove it. If there are multiple coats of limewash, you may need to apply the acid mixture several times to fully remove it from the brick.

It can take a professional anywhere between several hours and a full day to remove wallpaper in one room. How long wallpaper removal takes depends on the type of adhesive, the wallpaper’s age, the condition of the walls, and more.

The average cost to remove wood paneling is $2,800, but total costs may be higher or lower depending on the size of the room, your location, and the amount of prep work required. Once the paneling is gone, you may have additional costs depending on the condition of the wall beneath.
