"I am completely in awe of the beautiful new walk-in shower that Bath Pro installed. Steve came to visit and helped me with decisions on what would work for me and my situation in my home. I had never heard of onyx and when he showed me and suggested I try it I was more than ready. He help me with my choices of matching my bathroom tile and my vanity sink to the colors I needed and wanted in my shower. Their install time was three months out from when I met with him but I was in no hurry and it was well worth the wait. The installer, Zack, did a great job removing the old tub and shower doors and installing a New walk in shower. He cleaned everything up and you would hardly know he was here doing all that work. I would highly recommend anyone who needs a bathroom makeover, or a walk in shower installed call Bath Pro KC."

"Unfortunately our two year old shower was not constructed correctly as we were seeing water damage on ceiling underneath it and mold forming in the shower caulk. Deano Tile does everything the right way. I am confident that our new shower will have no problems going forward. His crew was very skillful and kept everything tidy during the 7 days. A shower pan's lifespan can range from 10 to 45 years, depending on the material. As a preventative measure, it's recommended to replace your shower pan every 10 to 15 years to avoid degradation, water leaks, and mold problems. A pan's lifespan can be shortened by incorrect installation, but proper cleaning can help extend it. You should replace your shower pan immediately if you notice clear signs of failure, such as visible cracks, water spilling onto the bathroom floor, moisture stains on adjacent walls or the ceiling below, or any movement, buckling, or warping in the pan when you step on it.

Most shower pans can be cut to size, including those made from mortar, polystyrene, tile (and the under-tile ABS lining), and even solid surfaces. The only common shower pan material you cannot easily cut to size is cast iron because it is heavy, difficult to cut, and prone to rust once the protective enamel has been removed.

You need mortar or a premanufactured pre-slope product under a shower pan liner. Some shower pans are pre-sloped, but they still need a base underneath them to support the pan’s structure and the weight of the person using the shower. Installing a shower without a pre-slope creates a high risk of pooling water, leaks, and the breakdown of the shower’s support structure.
