"Very professional installers, Tyler and Brittney explained evert step of the project and completed it in the time they set. They did our Master Bath Shower and our Hall Bath Tub and shower beautifully, in four days and cleaned up nicely. Would use them again."

"We are so happy with our new shower installment. The installers with West Shore Home, James, Anthony, and Jatam went above and beyond to get the job done. They were very professional and discussed proper care and cleaning of our new shower. I would recommend West Shore Home for shower or bath tub installments. Thank you for all your hard work."

"From the time I first contacted Five Star about my tub to shower conversion project, I knew I had found the right contractor. Everything happened as it was explained to me and in the timeframe discussed. And the follow-up after the project was completed demonstrated a genuine interest in the customer. I highly recommend them to my friends and family."

"Getting a walk in tub is expensive no matter who you use. My experience thus far is with installation only and I must say my install went great. It has been over a month and no issues with my tub so I cannot comment on repair process with American Standard."

"Previous owners had installed a bath fitter. It looked Great but started to bubble up on the flooring. A leak in the sealing. Unfortunately the lifetime warrantee was only for the previous owner. I am very happy with the look and quality of work. Plus I now have a lifetime warrantee!"

Tub Shower Conversion questions, answered by experts

Professionals ensure proper sealing and connections, preventing long-term water damage.

Shower niches can be placed anywhere they will be most accessible for those in the shower. A shower niche should be close enough to the showerhead that it’s convenient to grab products, but not so close that it’s in the direct path of the water. You can also consider the overall shower design and favor symmetry, integrate the niche with the tile design, or hire a bathroom remodeling contractor to help you decide.

If properly installed and maintained, an acrylic shower should last 10 to 20 years. Acrylic costs more than fiberglass, but it's also a better value because it's among the most durable and damage-resistant materials used for shower walls. Acrylic showers tend not to chip, crack, or fade over time, even with regular use.

A roll-in shower is a popular bathroom remodel for seniors that includes a large, open space that's larger than your standard shower, a smooth, beveled slope no higher than half an inch to allow wheelchairs to enter, shower handrails to assist with support, anti-slip coating, and a shower bench for sitting. Some roll-in showers have other features like shelving, storage, and hand shower arm extensions or slide mounts.

There are three main types of shower valves: pressure-balancing, thermostatic, and diverter. Pressure-balancing and thermostatic valves are both considered mixing valves because they regulate water flow and temperature, but they do so in different ways. A pressure-balancing valve senses changes in water pressure, such as from a flushing toilet, and adjusts the incoming hot and cold water to maintain a consistent temperature; these typically use a single knob. A thermostatic valve uses a thermostat to precisely control the water temperature and requires a separate control to adjust the water volume. A diverter valve directs the flow of water from one fixture to another, such as switching from a tub faucet to a showerhead in a tub-shower combination.
