"Very prompt, after the recent floods. Quickly diagnosed the problem of a clogged sewer drain, cleaned it out, cleaned up after himself, and spotted a potential problem that might arise in the future. Iâ m"

"Steve Burleyson did an excellent job remodeling our master bath. Working alone, he removed our existing shower enclosure and replaced it. He also installed new shower doors. He pulled out the bathroom sink and toilet and laid new tile flooring. He was efficient, courteous, neat and professional. We also had glass block windows installed in the master and hall bathrooms by this company. The work was done quickly and neatly and we are extremely happy with the results."

"I called SET PLUMBING around 2:30 in the afternoon after my sewer backed up into my basement. I called & left a message & Chris got back to me promptly. They were booked the rest of the day, but said they could comes first thing in the morning. Around 3:30 he called back & said they had a cancellation. They were there in an hour & took care of the tree root problem they discovered I had. Steve & Chris were friendly & professional, & made sure the problem was resolved before leaving. Reasonable pricing too."

"I hired Burke Plumbing for a new installation of a toilet (06/11). Work was fine except the gentleman did not finish caulking work around the toilet (the back side of the toilet was not caulked at all). I called twice to report the problem; each time the lady said someone would call me. I have waited at least ten (10) days since my last call to Burke to write this review to give Burke a chance to respond to my request. As of today (06/30), no one from Burke called me to discuss my request."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

DIY is not recommended for commercial settings due to safety and code compliance. Hire licensed professionals.

While any bathroom remodel has a positive return on investment, an en suite bathroom can significantly increase a home’s resale value. It makes a property more enticing to buyers with families, particularly those with young children. However, keep in mind that at least one of the bathrooms should have a tub.

There are a few reasons why this could be the case. More than likely, your flapper is worn out and needs to be replaced. When it’s worn out, it lowers the water pressure during each flush leading to inefficient flushing. Luckily, replacing a toilet flapper is a simple repair that should only take about 30 minutes.

Toilets typically connect to your main vent stack, a vertical pipe that runs through all finished levels of your home and exits through the roof. It’s located behind the walls, but if you have an unfinished basement or a utility closet, you may find a portion of it running the vertical length of the space. Some basement toilets use an air admittance valve instead, which is a small vent located in the wall directly behind the toilet that extends upward a few feet from the drain.

Start by gutting the old fixtures and features that need to be removed, such as the tile, vanity, and flooring. You may benefit by removing the toilet, even if you intend to use the same one. Next, install the new shower or tub, followed by the flooring, and then the drywall, which you should then paint. After that, install your new cabinets, vanity, countertop, sink, and faucet, in that order. Replace your light fixture next. Lastly, reconnect the toilet.
