Hello there! I'm a Saint Charles/Saint Louis native and an experienced carpenter and remodeller of 17 years! Been in my own business since 2022. I love to do beautiful work at reasonable prices. I am focused on design-minded small construction and carpentry--this means that I am not primarily so focused on flashy features and the newest updates, and more focused on how I can create a project with you that makes sense with your specific house and it's architectural design. I love working with wood the most but really love doing most anything on a home and happy to do handyman work here and there as well. Please reach out so we can start a conversation! I'm happy to offer advice on how to navigate the construction industry or send you phone numbers of other great guys if you need other services. I focus on approachability and a down to earth experience. I love doing good work, i'm easy to deal with and show up when I say I will. Would love to work with you!

"Things went well. The work was done meticulously. They cleaned up every day and communicated well as to any stoppage. i.e. Weather stopped job for two days and I was called to inform me. All nail holes were painted to match the color scheme. The bottom line: my home looks fantastic."

"Ok first off the KJ guy is a beast he'll do anything , we needed sloping and sod installed, took 5 days cost us within our budget he worked with us, he sloped dropfoot hills with major big rocks , he's the King in that skidster, it didn't look big enough for our job he laughed and started when we got home from vacation ,he came buy we paid and he done such a good job for that price I expect little less but he went above and beyond, we was so excited with what he did here 10 yrs later we bought new place he cleared 8 acres ,laid rock had concrete buddy laid concrete and place looked awesome , we are installing a pool so I called him he came gave us a bid was a little more than expected but when he added the water fall to the pool , we almost cried from this ,he's thought with the room and area to do so was amazing great company, and he's the man, Thanks KJ your are the best all bs aside , I'll hire him before anyone do to his honesty, if you think it impossible call KJ he may surprise you , but you pay for what you add or get , and I got a military discount , he's at my mom's now working and he gave her a senior discount and help her get paid through her insurance, so she saved and didn't cost her anything after insurance paid her , BTW at mom's he doing a deck and fence"

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Italianate architecture is a reinterpretation of Renaissance styles, combining elements of Italian farmhouses and villas with Victorian materials and construction. This home style emerged in the Victorian era, gaining popularity in the U.S. in the mid-to late-1800s. The style came about in response to what many then viewed as the too-rigid and stuffy Classical style designs.

You have three options in terms of professionals who can draw up blueprints: a draftsperson, an architect, or a structural engineer. A draftsperson can sometimes draw up plans for new construction, but they more often work from approved plans for alterations or to provide 3D drawings. Architects are usually the best option for standard residential construction projects. Structural engineers might be necessary for custom home builds or for alterations that could affect your home’s structural integrity. Draftsmen cost the least of the three, followed by architects and then structural engineers.

Yes, professionals can offer design advice and material selections that complement existing architecture.

Buying a house is easier than building one from scratch. Buying an existing home is almost always faster, even if you need to make renovations once you move in. When you hire the right team to build a home, they will simplify the design and build phases so that there is little guesswork throughout the process, but building new construction will almost always take longer than buying an existing home.

Costs depend on project complexity, materials, labor, permits, and required revisions.
