We had some recent storm damage that was minor (all things considered) and had called a few other local companies. Everyone wanted to quote us for an entire new side of siding - until Zykan Exteriors! They not only said they could do it, but were prompt in responding to the request and sent a team out within 48 hours. The team was friendly and it did not take them long to get the job done. It may have been just a small fix, but being taken seriously and not simply downplayed is a definite win in the book. Would highly recommend them for any size job in the St. Louis area - you won’t regret it!

Zykan exterior replaced my siding and my house looks wonderful they did a fantastic job . There was no leadership from the beginning. We had a project manager who was to oversee the entire job. He showed up sometimes and stayed maybe 1/2 hour. The subcontractors did not speak English and had daily questions for myself and my husband, who works full time from home. We noticed the beginning nail pops showing up on our interior wall and brought it immediately to the lead guy, who spoke some English. Nothing was done to stop the damage and we ended up with an interior full of nail pops. Btw…we had just gutted and remodeled our 1st floor last year. We asked the owner to come out to see the disaster and he refused. He told us it was our fault for doing our interior before the exterior. He sent his VP out to collect payment and we asked to talk with Fred Zykan. He called him and he basically threatened us if we did not pay him. The job was not complete and our contract, which was signed on 7/16/22 states final pymt due when job is complete. They had racked a window in the front of our hous and ruined the casement window. They did replace the window but thought it was ok to leave the trim work on the inside and the window unpainted! After not backing down they sent someone out to paint and stated that they did us a favor. The sloppy work on the outside is testament to their lack of integrity, quality, and respect for someone’s property! They have been paid in full and we are having the damage repaired by people who take pride in their work!

"Mr. and Mrs. [Member Name Removed], Zykan Exteriors StL strives to do the very best job we can given the variable factors that come with every construction job. We have discussed every issue that you've outlined and while the nail pops that you have are real, they are not due to negligence on our behalf. Yes, you spoke with the crew and that information made it to our project manager, and there was a discussion to do what they could to prevent further damage. However, removing cedar siding and even thicker cedar trim around windows and doors is not a delicate procedure. In fact, the window that was torqued which caused a broken pane, was from an improper installation from the window manufacturer and was next to impossible to avoid. The fasteners used went through the interior portion of the window, through the wall, and into the outside trim around the window that we were contracted to remove. The removal of said trim is what caused that - but rather than wipe our hands of that, we didn't give you credit for a window pane but rather we replaced the entire unit. A twin casement Andersen unit is not an inexpensive window - but we gave you options, let you pick colors, and even bid other windows for you. Upon installation, you expressed that you wanted the inside trim painted over the stock color, so we did that for you too. We will stand behind our work and take care of the issues, but when there is unforseen issues that are caused by the work that you requested we did and the existing condition of your home, that can't fall on us. Your drywall is installed with nails and not screws, which used to be common. They switched to screws for these reasons, and although it is unfortunate that the order you had the work done was not ideal, we cannot bear that responsibility. We gave you a very competitive price, accomplished everything in the contract and then some, and we wish you the very best."

Excellent, Zykan was easy to work with. They do quality work, and they worked very well with another contractor I used to install stone on the front of house. I highly recommend them for siding and roofing projects.

They were very upfront on the scope of repairs, and they were honest about the scheduled time frame. This roof repair was to replace some plywood and shingles. Zykan had done a compete shingle roof replacement within the last year. Due to that experience, we reached out to them again without any hesitation.

They did not do what we agreed upon and charged me more then what was promised and never gave me the opportunity to opt out. Got a bill for $3700 out of pocket after I was told no out of pocket expense. Salesman lied and president had no empathy to work with me. Totally jerks to work with and DO NOT RECOMMEND. They apperently do not know all municipalities requirements so did not warn me and added it on at end when I got the bill.

The team was very helpful and professional! The new roof looks great and I am quite happy with the price. There was an unfortunate accident that occurred during clean up that resulted in some damage to my deck. The team has been very prompt, professional and apologetic regarding the issue and are fixing the damage and making things right.

We had a hailstorm in March 2020 right before the shutdown. Will came out and inspected our house and found damage to roof siding and gutters. He then contacted my insurance and because of covid my insurance company’s color match and inspection departments were closed. He stayed with them until they approved the repairs in July 2020. The roof was replaced immediately. The siding was on back order because of covid, we were kept informed though out this time. The siding came in in December 2020 and we asked them to wait until after Christmas, which they did. The 1st was on a weekend, so January 4th they began installing the siding which took 2 days and then they installed the gutters on the 3rd day. Could not have been happier with the work or more grateful for their help with insurance and suppliers during this pandemic. Also I want to thank them for keeping me updated though all the months it took because of covid. Had to be frustrating to them also. The house looks great and I am very happy!

I have used Zykan to replace hail damaged roofs on 2 of my houses. Both events were handled with professional services, great communication and a quality install. Best customer service! Very accommodating and quick to respond. They helped fix a small leak in my roof, and even made arrangements to be there when the adjuster was available. I had a few options, but so happy I went with them.

We had some siding damage at our house. We consulted Angie’s List for potential contractors on November 2nd. Zykan Exteriors were one of the first to contact us. Will Lackey came to our house on November 5th to repair the damaged siding. My wife and I are very pleased with Will’s workmanship and attention to detail. The individual who came to give the bid was very knowledgable, honest and helped save us money on unnecessary additions. They were very busy at the time we contracted them, so work was performed about one month after we paid the down payment for materials. The gutters and downspout both look good. They even removed a downspout that was no longer functioning even though it was not listed in the scope of work. We had a downspout extension that they was not in the original bid to replace, but it went missing after they completed the work. When I contacted them to see if they knew where it was, they were very responsive and replaced it within 24 hours. The only negative aspect I saw was in cleanup. When they removed the old gutters, there was a lot of chipped paint that fell on the ground and was left there. Overall, I would recommend this company. They were competitive in pricing and very responsive when I had a problem.

Being 1 of the 3 companies that I had selected to request a quote, Zykan responded in less than 10 minutes, scheduled a evaluation of my damaged fascia the next day and in less than a week, the job was done. Zykan was A+ from start to finish. I developed a problem on a Saturday and it was repaired by the following Monday. Jim, Will and Wilson the roofer were all great. Any future needs I have for exterior work will be with this company. Kevin Slaten really knows what hes talking about! Carpe Diem to Zykan! My wife now is happy again that her new kitchen doesn't have brown spots on the ceiling from a leak.
