"Our interaction was great. They went out of their way to accomplish our projects. Have and will continue to call upon Carpenter's Kids for handyman or other services. Have some plumbing work as our next project. We sought a Christian company to do our work and we were not or never have been disappointed."

"Im super pleased with the work this company did and I will absolutely hire them again for future projects! The big boss Dale is extremely kind and knowledgeable and I felt safe and at ease with him taking care of the repairs my home desperately needed. His crew was very very respectful to me while they were in my home and were happy to work around me and let me talk their ears off while they tried to work :) Additionally the price I paid for said repairs was very fair and reasonable; i dont feel like I was overcharged or taken advantage of. Overall this was a great experience and am happy to recommend these guys to anyone who needs work done around the house. I had them replace drywall and several doors and trim and paint and I think they can do pretty much anything!"

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Framing is often the most expensive phase of building a house because it’s time-consuming and requires a lot of materials. It costs between $20,000 and $50,000 on average, depending on materials and labor costs. Before construction begins, it’s possible that purchasing land is the priciest step in the process. Some plots of land sell for $3,000, while others cost upwards of $150,000.

Professionals optimize layouts, improve energy efficiency, and ensure structural safety and compliance.

Mid-century modern architecture was a popular home style throughout the U.S. from the 1950s to 1970s. Most homes feature a wide and symmetrical floor plan with low-sloped roofs and floor-to-ceiling windows. Its minimalism and balanced appearance are back on the home style scene, particularly when maximizing sunlight, airflow, and a blend with the home's natural surroundings.

It usually takes around four to six months to build and install a modular home, although your timeline could go up to around eight months if there are delays in the manufacturing or permitting process. Heavy site preparation and foundation pouring can extend that timeline if you need them, as can customizations you want for your modular home. Your modular home company should be able to provide an estimate for the construction timeline before you sign any contracts or agree to any work.

Yes, new home construction will always require building permits, no matter where you live. In most cases, you’ll need a general construction permit, along with plumbing and electrical permits for the utility lines in your home. Depending on where you live, you’ll likely find that you also need permits for things like connection to a sewage system or installing exterior components, like decks, driveways, patios, and curb cutouts. Leave navigating the permits required for new home construction to a professional to ensure your home is built legally and safely.
