"I was totally satisfied with this Company from the beginning to the end. I scheduled an appointment and was seen right away. A representative came to my home and assessed what I needed to have done. The price was reasonable and the work was completed in a timely fashion. I would recommend this Company in a HEARTBEAT!! Thanks for ALL that you DO!!"

"Mindy arrived on time and did a complete inspection of our attic and took photos to show us the work that needed to be done to make our home more energy efficient. The installers arrived on time, did the necessary repairs, installed the insulation and cleaned up when they were finished. They also took photos showing us the completed job. A bonus that we didn't expect is that the house is much quieter! They are extremely professional and I highly recommend them!"

"The boiler was fairly new, but had never been serviced. The workman came on Saturday in response to an emergency call, and fixed the boiler as well as performed basic maintenance which badly needed to be done. He didn't bleed the radiators, so I will be contacting the company to make arrangements to have that techs do this as well. I would consider relying on Vitt's for routine maintenance of our heating system, as well as replacement of our water heater."

"After purchasing a Deal for a home energy audit, Paul Peterson and his wife came on the scheduled day and checked the house for air loss to the outside.  They sealed the front door with a plastic 'door' with an exhaust fan to pull in cooler outside air.  They then took pictures with a camera that showed cold/hot  areas. After inspecting attic and basement he made several suggestions as well as promising to send an estimate of work.  After I received that I eliminated some work that could be done by family and agreed to the rest.  A date was set and the workers came promptly on that day.
There were 4 workers and each of them was courteous, friendly and competent.  Work was explained and I was kept informed of
everything that was done.  They were dog friendly and cautious about closing gates while working.
At the end of the job Paul mentioned one thing that he had not bid but that needed to be done to bring everything up to code.  He said he would have his crew come by and take care of it at no cost when they were in the area.  This was done a week or so later.  I have confidence that this is an honorable company that stands behind their work and word.

Energy Efficiency Auditing questions, answered by experts

Setting your AC unit to 78 degrees can, indeed, help you save energy. In fact, according to experts, every degree you turn the unit up could save you between 1% and 3% on your energy bills. That said, turning your unit off entirely while you’re out might actually be less efficient than keeping it on at a higher temperature. Why? The unit will need to work extra hard to cool the house back off again after all those hot hours.

Home power is measured in kilowatt-hours, commonly expressed as kWh. The average home uses between 800 and 1,000 kWh per month. Peak usage (and highest bills) occurs in the middle of summer and the depths of winter. Keeping on top of your usage during these crucial months will lower your annual average usage considerably.

Yes, with features like LED lighting and variable speed controls for efficiency.

Yes, skylights can affect a home’s energy efficiency, either positively or negatively. Properly installed, energy-efficient skylights with Low-E coatings, double glazing, and UV-blocking glass can help regulate indoor temperatures and reduce heating and cooling costs. However, poorly insulated or older skylights can contribute to heat loss in winter and excess heat gain in summer, lowering overall energy efficiency.

Motion-sensor lights use one watt while on standby and five watts while turned on. They’re usually on for one hour over a 24-hour period, bringing the total wattage to about 28 watts per day. LED lights use around 6.5 to 8 watts while on. If you leave an LED light on all night, with night ranging from 10 to 14 hours, you’re looking at using 65 to 112 watts a night. You can minimally cut your wattage in half by switching to a motion-sensor light.
