"I bought a new shower system and needed help installing it. Glen quoted me a priced but let me know my other option was to buy different hardware. If I follow his advice, I simply buy and install the fixtures myself. The guts inside the wall (already open to tile) are just fine and work with the upgraded features I wanted! Saved me a bunch in time and materials. While he was here he diagnosed another plumbing issue in my guest bath. the quote seems fair and now I know I can trust them to do what's best for me I'll be calling them back."

"I was totally satisfied with this Company from the beginning to the end. I scheduled an appointment and was seen right away. A representative came to my home and assessed what I needed to have done. The price was reasonable and the work was completed in a timely fashion. I would recommend this Company in a HEARTBEAT!! Thanks for ALL that you DO!!"

"Mindy arrived on time and did a complete inspection of our attic and took photos to show us the work that needed to be done to make our home more energy efficient. The installers arrived on time, did the necessary repairs, installed the insulation and cleaned up when they were finished. They also took photos showing us the completed job. A bonus that we didn't expect is that the house is much quieter! They are extremely professional and I highly recommend them!"

"The boiler was fairly new, but had never been serviced. The workman came on Saturday in response to an emergency call, and fixed the boiler as well as performed basic maintenance which badly needed to be done. He didn't bleed the radiators, so I will be contacting the company to make arrangements to have that techs do this as well. I would consider relying on Vitt's for routine maintenance of our heating system, as well as replacement of our water heater."

"We called for a quote and Mindy came the same day to review our spaces and provide a price. After rain cancelled our first installation, the second date was dry and the team of three guys were on time. They reviewed where we wanted the tubes and took their time with the installation. The addition of natural light makes a huge difference and we are very satisfied with the product and the installation."

Energy Efficiency Auditing questions, answered by experts

Leaving lights on raises the electric bill, but not as much as having high-wattage light bulbs. The best way to save on electric costs is to swap your light bulbs to LED or CFL bulbs that use far fewer watts. You can also use smart lights and light switches to control usage via a smartphone or voice-controlled device.

Homeowners may qualify for an HVAC tax credit if they install an ENERGY STAR®-certified HVAC system that exceeds the energy efficiency minimum standards:

  • Split-System AC: 16 SEER2

  • Packaged AC: 15.2 SEER2 and 11.5 EER2

  • Ducted Split Heat Pump: 15.2 SEER2, 7.8 HSPF2, and 11.7 EER2

  • Packaged Heat Pump: 15.2 SEER2, 7.2 HSPF2, and 10.6 EER2

  • Mini-Split System: 16 SEER2, 9 HSPF2, and 12 EER2

You can claim up to 30% of the cost of the job, subject to maximums.

Yes, advising on models that save electricity and reduce utility bills.

R-value measures an insulation material's thermal resistance, indicating its ability to resist heat transfer. A higher R-value signifies better insulation performance because the material is more effective at slowing heat flow. The R-value depends on the type, thickness, and density of the insulation material, such as fiberglass, foam, or cellulose. Each inch of insulation typically provides an R-value between 3 and 8. There is no single universal R-value; the optimal choice depends on your climate zone. Colder climates require a much higher R-value than warmer ones to maintain energy efficiency, keep the home warm in winter and cool in summer, and manage costs.

Yes, installing an attic fan can help lower your electric bill—particularly if you live in a hot and humid region. By replacing hot and stuffy air with cooler air, these fans help regulate the temperature in your attic and the rest of your home, taking some of the pressure off of your air conditioner.
