It's best to use a silicone- or lithium-based lubricant since they're designed to deeply penetrate the door's components and provide long-lasting protection against wear and tear. Avoid using WD-40 and standard grease since they can potentially strip away existing lubrication or attract dust and dirt, respectively.

Reviewing what you have and what you want to get rid of makes organizing your garage, thoroughly cleaning the space, and making any repairs easier.
