"Camryn H, Joshua F, and Tanner from the Moberly office did a great job at our home. They had to deal with radiant heat in the floor and worked with a person from our heating and cooling guys to pinpoint where they could drill. Our lot is on a hill and they worked hard to not disrupt the area where they had to dig along the outside of the foundation. It wasn?t cheap to use FRS but the work was was worth it. Thanks Camryn, Tanner, and Joshua!"

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

A plumbing emergency is a problem that threatens to severely damage your home or put your family at risk if not addressed immediately. If leaving the issue until regular business hours will cause more damage, it's an emergency. Examples include burst pipes, major leaks, significant drain clogs, a lack of hot water, a suspected gas leak, an out-of-control water heater, or a sewer line backup forcing gases into your home. Many home insurance policies will cover sudden and unexpected plumbing emergencies, provided they are not caused by homeowner negligence.

While you can put Drano in a sink with standing water, most plumbers don’t recommend doing so. It usually doesn’t help to clear the clog, and you’ll end up with a sink full of standing water plus a toxic chemical—which is very unpleasant to deal with and best handled by a professional.

Running hot water through frozen pipes can help thaw them, but it's not always a guaranteed solution. To prevent pipes from freezing in the first place, it’s crucial to open the hot and cold faucets connected to the frozen pipes and allow a slow, steady stream of water to flow. Additionally, applying gentle heat using a hairdryer or heat tape can expedite the thawing process. If the pipes remain frozen, professional assistance may be necessary to prevent damage.

Both plumbing inspection cost and length can vary widely based on the specifics of a property. For a larger home, historic home, or rental complex, a full plumbing inspection can take a full day. Put aside at least eight hours from the start of the visit to ensure that you'll be available to answer any of the plumber's questions. However, a thorough inspection of the average one-story to two-story home lasts just two to three hours.

Vinegar is better for an AC drain line because it’s less corrosive and won’t damage the pipes. It’s also a safer and easier product to use. Bleach should not be used on your AC drain line because it can corrode your pipes and harm the evaporator coil in your air conditioner.
