Renew Crew started as Wood Re New in March 1993 in Springfield Missouri. In 1993 we began researching products and realized there was a need for an exterior wood care expert that could clean and maintain decks, fences, docks, cedar and redwood siding. Hence, Wood Re New was born. During the second year in business, with the assistance of a chemist, Stan developed an environmentally safe cleaner specifically for exterior wood. This cleaner is actually a thick foam that clings to vertical surfaces better, and achieves amazing results. After restoring the wood’s original beauty we apply our exclusive Protectant to safeguard it from further damage by the elements. Our proprietary protectant repels water and blocks harmful u.v. rays and gives wood a rich, new appearance. Wood Re New started as a home based business and now occupies a 4000 sq. ft. location. In 2013, the year of 20th Anniversary, we became Renew Crew! The new name reflects the addition of a new line of services including the cleaning and sealing of other outdoor surfaces such as vinyl or stucco siding, brick or concrete surfaces and hardscapes made of pavers.

Epoxy Flooring questions, answered by experts

Installing carpet padding is mostly a matter of measuring the room and cutting the carpet pad to size with a utility knife. You can save some money on carpet installation costs by doing it yourself. Before installing the carpet padding, you should install the tack strips around the room’s perimeter and prepare the subfloor by cleaning and making any necessary repairs. Then, unroll the carpet pad and cut sections as needed. Staple the carpet pad to the subfloor along the edges, leaving the tack strips exposed.

Yes. Many manufacturers make stair treads that you can install over carpeted stairs without needing to do any cutting or drilling. Stair treads can also be installed on wood, marble, and other stair surface materials. Just be sure to double-check the information for the specific product you’re buying to ensure its adhesive or installation process will work with the type of stairs you have.

Yes, you can technically make a crawl space liveable, but the only way to do so is by converting it into a basement. While some crawl spaces are big enough to walk through and store large items, they lack appropriate insulation and space to be liveable.

Now that you know the true pleasure of a squeaky-clean floor, you’re probably wondering how to keep floors clean between mop days. Here are the best tips to keep your floor looking spotless:

  • Give floors a quick daily swipe with a microfiber mop.

  • Keep a spray bottle of your cleaning solution on hand to use as needed.

  • Sweep daily and vacuum once or twice a week.

  • Clean up spills and messes as soon as they happen.

  • Place a doormat at each entrance to your home to reduce mud tracking.

  • Consider enforcing a “no shoes inside” policy.

  • Wash your pet’s paws before letting them back inside.

Carpeting lasts between 10 and 15 years in most cases, but keep an eye out for common signs that it's time to replace it. Persistent smells despite deep cleaning, faded color, worn-down carpet padding, and general wear and tear are signs that it's time to tear it up. If you are experiencing allergy issues indoors, this could also be a sign that new flooring is the key to a fresher home.
