"They built a 1600 sq ft home for me and done a fantastic job from start to finish. Attention to detail and communication was the very best. They have also done some remodel work for me on my flip houses, also installed a new roof on a different home. I would highly recommended Darrin and his crew to anyone!"

"The contracted the work off to a third party. Jon took longer than expected. The windows was installed pretty good from the looks. Communication could have been better with knowing the job will take longer and what types of trims I wanted for the windows. As the contractor that was hired for this job by this company. Did a good job with putting up decent trim. As for the new windows they look great. I purchased the myself and hired sentri homes to install them. I will need to have a my siding on my house redone to be closer to the new windows so the gaps are not so obvious. That was not expected at first. But from old storm windows and not knowing how they were put in originally. There was some unknown things that was learned from the job being completed. I will have the siding of the house slightly done to match really good for what I wanted later on. My only concern is better communication with sentri homes. Overall they were great when I did talk to them."

"As a new home owner, I am more the thrilled by the high quality of work done by Indian Summer Pool and Spa. I called Doug Fender (one of the owners), who made an immediate appointment with me to discus my plans to expand my patio, along with three other companies. Doug when through all available options, costs and expectations on the job I wanted done. Not only did he have a great team of employee's show up on time, they had everything organized from ground prep, rock deliver, concrete delivery, and temporary fencing down to the minute. I was very impressed with the owners showing up to make sure that I as a home owner was happy with each step of the process and that every employee was very efficient and knew their area of expertise. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing work done on a project you want done right. Just a note not only did the come in on budget, but the other companies I called did not have any where the game plans or explain the details of what to expect. This is a company you will be happy with."

"It has been a pleasure to do business with Ahmed construction. They provide very fair price on bidding. The administrative project manager Mr Albert is a hard working guy. Him along with the Mr Judy did the decking and replaced some studs on an addition remodel project. I highly recommend Ahmed construction and I will hire them again for any future project"

Home Building questions, answered by experts

The local climate heavily dictates home building schedules. Frequent freeze-thaw cycles and severe ice storms require heavy-duty roof framing and restrict concrete pouring during winter. High summer humidity delays drywall installation and paint application. Because of heavy spring rainfall in Ava, proper site drainage and foundation waterproofing remain essential. Schedule your exterior construction projects during the reliable dry windows of April through May or September through October.

Helpful?

In Ava, functional home building takes priority over cosmetic work. You must secure permits for structural, electrical, or plumbing updates to meet Missouri building codes. Address foundational issues caused by karst geology and roof damage from severe weather before starting aesthetic changes. Cosmetic updates like painting or flooring do not require permits and offer flexible scheduling. Plan functional repairs during seasonal dry windows to protect your property from moisture damage.

Helpful?

Local professionals approach home building by prioritizing safety and structural integrity first. They address immediate electrical hazards and stabilize foundation movement caused by regional karst geology. Next, contractors seal the building envelope to block moisture from MO storms. Mechanical systems like plumbing and HVAC receive upgrades after the structure is secure. Cosmetic finish work happens last, scheduled carefully to avoid the high summer humidity that ruins paint adhesion.

Helpful?

Before starting home building in Ava, check your lot and soil type. The area features karst terrain, making sinkholes a serious structural concern. Review flood zone maps and verify your zoning designation. For rural MO properties, locate your existing well and septic systems to ensure proper setbacks for additions. Finally, check the construction year, as older homes require hazardous material abatement and electrical upgrades to meet modern residential codes.

Helpful?

A strong candidate for home building sits on stable, non-karst ground well outside designated flood zones. Your property needs a permitted septic system with enough capacity for planned additions. Homes updated to modern Missouri residential codes provide the best starting points. Visible foundation cracking, unknown septic infrastructure, or unpermitted additions require immediate professional assessment. Resolve these structural and regulatory issues before starting any major construction in Ava.
