"It worked out okay, except that I would have anticipated, the cost just gets more. They always find those things, so it starts at $99 and end up spending $300 or $400. People tell me they always find mold inside your air duct, so they have to put a chemical. They call it a total cleaning as opposed to the regular cleaning which I paid for. What they did seemed to have worked. I have suspicions about when they find other things. "

This two-step procedure insures your building's carpet looks as good as possible between service visits. Our primary cleaning process is based upon a low-moisture "Encapsulation" cleaning technology; it is a revolutionary alternative to disruptive, inefficient restorative cleaning systems and damaging, costly interim methods. The low-moisture agitation and crystallization process traps embedded soils in clear polymer crystals that are removed along with the soil during the next vacuuming cycle. In addition, our system has the added benefits of quicker drying time, improved indoor air quality, and mill-recommended pile lifting for enhanced appearance.

Carpet Cleaning questions, answered by experts

The cost for professional carpet cleaning is $180 for the average homeowner. However, you could end up paying as low as $80 or as high as $375 or more, depending on how much carpeting you have in your home and the type of cleaning you’ll have done, plus any add-ons like furniture and upholstery cleaning. For example, bonnet carpet cleaning averages around $150 since it’s more surface-level. However, due to its complexity, hot water extraction cleaning averages closer to $400.

Carpets do best with non-abrasive cleaning solutions either purchased at the store or made at home. You can apply solutions of salt, water, vinegar, or baking soda to your carpet or choose a carpet-safe cleaner. Never mix the two. In between deep cleans, vacuuming twice a week should do the trick for a clean carpet.

No, you cannot steam-clean a silk rug. While steamers are a staple for cleaning area rugs, specifically oriental, the same doesn’t apply to silk rugs. The heat from a steamer can seriously damage its fibers. And since you probably don’t want to replace your stunning rug, it’s best to stay safe and keep steamers away from it.

While you don’t have to move everything out of a room for a carpet cleaning, doing so will reveal hidden dirt and allow for a more thorough cleaning. However, for heavy or rarely used areas under furniture, cleaning around the pieces can be enough. Professional cleaners often work around large items or move furniture as needed.

There are a few carpet maintenance tips you’ll want to use to keep your carpet looking brand-new. Make sure you tackle stains immediately, and only use cleaners gentle enough for your carpet's specific fibers. You can even pop area rugs on top of wall-to-wall carpeting to change the look of your space and protect the carpet below.
