"This place is the WORST. We hired for a kitchen remodel and it was a disaster from the beginning to end. The cabinets were okay but the guy is a carpenter so he should stick to that. He did the ceramic subway tile and it looks terrible. He installed the linoleum floor using the wrong adhesive and sub-floor (because apparently he cannot read the manufacturer instructions I left for him) and they all popped up within a year. $1300 worth of flooring RUINED! He said he'd fix it but never did. He did not repay me for the flooring and did not fix it. I've asked him twice to pay me back for the product but he hasn't. This was in 2015 - I've been trying to get resolution for THREE YEARS. I finally pulled all that tile up and threw it out and had to replace it myself with something else. Something I installed myself so it would be done RIGHT. He was demanding the second payment before the job was done. Running games on both me and another person I had referred to him before I knew what a disaster he is. He screwed them over too. He's a scammer. Don't do business with these people. Extremely unprofessional."

Quality installation of natural stone and ceramic tile. Fully insured and operating since 2002. Expert in custom showers and master bath remodeling. We do it all! Kitchen backs-plash, fireplace, heated flooring, and more!

"Pablo rescued a stalled project after we fired the previous contractor, who turned out to be less than amateur! Our fireplace was modernized with a beautiful tile front and a new gas insert from Kozy Heat (a Minnesota made product). We selected the tile and Pablo and John installed with quality products (thin set, grout, and metal edging) and workmanship. We had our “new” fireplace in time for Christmas. Now I’m dreaming of a bathroom remodel. So many beautiful tiles available for remodeling! Pablo is creative and good at helping customers achieve their vision with his expertise and suggestions."

Marble and Granite questions, answered by experts

You can, in theory, tile your fireplace hearth with most tiles. However just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. For example, it’s much better to use unglazed tiles because glazed tiles are more resistant to cracking under extreme heat. Porcelain is more heat-resistant than ceramic, but you can still design the hearth as you like by putting the most heat-resistant tiles directly under the fire and, if it matches your style, add more decorative tiles further from the center of the fire.

As long as your travertine tiles are properly installed and maintained, they can last as long as 75 to 100 years. The best way to keep them in good shape is to learn how to clean floor tile and grout with the proper cleaning products. For travertine, you need to avoid anything acidic like vinegar. Also, take care when moving furniture around, because these tiles can scratch.

If your travertine tiles start to look worse for wear, you can always get them deep cleaned, honed, and polished to give them a new lease on life.

Tile floor installation usually takes about 16 hours of active work along with a couple of days of drying time between tile and grout applications.

The amount of time it takes your installer will depend on many factors, including the square footage of the space, the tile material type, and if they need to make intricate tile cuts.

Regrouting is cheaper than retiling, and it involves less work. Grout is available in a wide range of colors, making it a cost-effective way to improve the look of any tiled area in your home.

It’s not a good idea to lay tile and grout on the same day. The adhesive or thin-set that sticks the tiles to the surface needs plenty of time to dry before you can grout. Wait for 24 to 48 hours, depending on moisture levels in the space. The tiles can become misaligned and more prone to damage if you don’t wait.
