He asked if I tried both valves, I advised him their was only one, he said there should be one also below the meter, sure enough there it was and I turned it while on the phone with him and it worked. "First, this company has handled all of my heating needs/problems since 1986 when they replaced a 58 year old gravity furnace with a high efficiency forced air system. I was not always pleased with this first furnace, but the company techs always gave me good service and advice. I needed to replace this furnace due to a flooded basement that left the unit under water for 6 hours and it was 23 years old. I looked to Home Energy Center (HEC) because of the good service they had provided over the years, but it was their job to lose - I had some questions about the old furnace. I called to make an appointment for an estimate and Kevin came out on the date and time of my choosing (at that time as late as 7pm and Sat. available). Kevin knew about my old furnace and told me they had stopped installing that model a few years after my purchase - they had found something better (I believe mine was an early high efficiency model -92%), I was impressed that he didn't try to sidestep any of my criticisms and presented me with what I thought was a good heating plant. Kevin said it's normally a 2 week wait for the installation but they had a cancellation the following Monday (4 days) and if I opted for that date they would deduct $250. He already had my business so I thought this was a nice gesture. That Monday the 2 installers came at 7am sharp and got right on the job. They said it would take about 8 hours so when I came home at 330pm I was surprised to find they had finished up and left They did leave all the manuals and instructions for operation. HEC provides what they call a "happiness check" where a company rep makes a return visit to check out and familiarize the homeowner with the system. I called Joyce and set up this appointment for a week later and Steve arrived at the appointed time. He had a checklist of items to go through with me and answered all my questions. He again covered all the warranty information and said I would receive materials in the mail to apply for an energy rebate and the Federal Energy Tax Credit (2010 exp). I did get these documents as promised along with excellent instructions in dealing with them (thanks Joyce). Granted I have only had this furnace for 2 months but so far I have no complaints and the house is warm. I would certainly use HEC again and will for future service/maintenance calls."

"We had just moved into a new house and ran the dishwasher for the first time only to find water seeping out all over the hardwood floors!  We ran one more load just to be sure it was the dishwasher, which it was.  We called two companies for a quote.  I left a message with SOS, but they returned my call probably within 15 minutes.  The gal on the phone was extremely helpful.  She told me what it would cost for the service call and then explained the Angie's List discount, which I had already seen online.  Whereas the other company was scheduling a whole week out, she said they happened to have a serviceman, Cory, who was in a neighboring town and who was finishing his work route early that day, so he had one more opening.  He was at our house within 20 minutes.  He got on the floor and discovered right away that the drain hose was cracked and needed to be replaced.  We approved the repair and he had it up and running, including testing for leaks with the new hose installed, within an hour.  We ran another load tonight and there's no leaking.  Thank you, Cory!"

"I had Service Today! complete two separate projects for me. First, I had an ice dam fall on my A/C condenser last winter and needed repair/replacement for an insurance claim. Second, I replaced my old water heater and boiler with a new combined tankless boiler & water heater unit. This involved complete repiping in the basement since I was also moving the mechanicals as part of a basement renovation. It was a large and complicated project, and ServiceToday! was awesome. Shout outs to Blake, Randy, Dave, Marc, Willy, and the rest who were part of the project. Like I said, it was pretty complicated and their team was always professional, friendly, courteous, and took pride in their work. I also love that they are diligent about calling 20-30 minutes before arrival so I don't have to sit at home waiting during a 2-hour window like I've frequently done with other service providers. Also, the latter project was an expensive one ($20k+) but their pricing was competitive and fair, and they have great financing options available. Would 100% use them again."
