"After completing our deck, we knew we wanted to build a patio off the landing, but the area of the patio had pretty severe drainage issues (water wrapping around and sitting against the foundation across the back of the house).  Tony was the only bid that recommended a comprehensive drainage system to be installed before putting in the patio.  He exhibited extensive knowledge on the Maple Grove soil (aka wet clay) and the issues that it could create.  After installing the french drain in the fall, he recommended waiting until spring before installing the patio, to give it time to dry and settle.
The next spring, he helped finalize the plans for the patio and started on the installation.  He also helped us pick out an outdoor fireplace that would serve as the centerpiece of the patio and coordinated the order and delivery of it.  The delivery of the fireplace had some delays, but Tony made sure he completed everything else he could while waiting for it to arrive.  Once the fireplace was in position, he was very efficient in finishing the rest of the patio and sitting wall.
After the patio was complete, we had Tony design and refurbish all of the planters around our house.  He met us at the nursery and recommended low maintenance plants, allowing us to select the ones that fit our tastes.  Overall, he installed around 100 plants and placed 25 yards of fresh mulch.  He was also able to coordinate the installation of concrete edging around all the planters.
On top of all that, Tony provided several other recommendations to approve the appeal of our lot, including a clean up on the hill leading down to a pond.  He even threw in a few trees and boulders that he had laying around at his shop.
In the end, we are very satisfied will the results of the entire project and are happy that we are able to enjoy the beautiful patio and landscaping every day.  Tony was very friendly and knowledgeable and was able to provide insight and recommendations throughout the entire project.  He is even willing to come out and train us on the best way to keep everything looking as good as it can in the future.
We are very happy that we selected Stone Age Landscapes and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to get some landscaping work done.  We also will continue to use them for all future projects we may have.
