"Angella is a realtor and helped stage my fathers home who had passed away. She recommended to do a couple things before we sell the house, gave me her professional opinion, so we painted the house, re-did some of the interior and replaced the carpet that revealed some beautiful hardwood floors. She had ideas how to stage the home, her team came with a truckload of furniture, and were in and out quickly. For the open house, she went through one more time, set it all up, she made it look nice and when people went through, it seemed like they had a real sense of the house potential. We got 3 offers the first weekend! Angella is very funny, listens to you, knows what you want to do and is straightforward with what needs to be done. She hit my house out of the park! We were so happy with her team, they were efficient, in and out quickly. Very affordable. I plan to use her again!"

Home Staging questions, answered by experts

Costs depend on home size, number of rooms staged, duration of staging, and furniture rental needs.

The average cost to stage a home is around $1,800, with most sellers paying between $800 and $2,800 for professional services. However, the total cost can vary significantly, ranging from $500-$600 for an initial consultation to $5,000 or more for comprehensive, full-home staging.

The final price depends on several factors, including the home's size, location, and condition, as well as the number of rooms being staged. Other key cost drivers include whether you need to rent furniture, the quality of the decor, the stager's experience, and the duration of the staging services. The scope of the project also plays a role, from virtual staging and simple decluttering to full-service design, which may involve repairs and maintenance.

In most cases, selling a home in as-is condition will lead to a sale price that’s somewhere between 10% and 30% lower than normal. However, it’s often worthwhile to sell at a loss because the alternative would be to pay for the repairs yourself, which could end up costing you more. Even if they didn’t, selling as-is saves you from the time and energy you’d spend coordinating the repairs.

Choosing a high-quality home stager can mean the difference between your home flying off the shelves or sitting on the market for weeks or months, and it all starts with verifying the stager’s experience. You can start by asking how long the professional has been in the business, and you should also ask for references and examples of past work in your particular area. Ask the stager about your options, including virtual staging, furniture rental, and other preparation services.

Yes, many professional stagers offer rental options for high-quality furnishings during the selling process.
