Empty The Nest is an Awesome Company. Just completed my Aunt's home yesterday. The house had been in the family since 1942 so there was a lot to move out. Babe and Brian were very nice, thorough, and efficient. They explained the whole process and were patient with our questions, were also very aware of the sentimental part of the whole move. I would recommend them to anyone who needs help with cleaning out a lived one's home.

They did the cleanout at my Mom's house after her passing and did a fantastic job. They were clear about what they needed from me, and what they could and couldn't do. They helped me schedule the work, kept me apprised of its progress and even finished early, even though it was a huge job at the end of a difficult driveway on a busy street. I was able to get the house ready for sale sooner than expected, and feel good that as much as possible of my Mom's things ended up doing the most good. Enthusiastically recommended!

We hired Empty the Nest to clean out my mother’s home of 60 years after she moved to an apartment. The entire experience was excellent. When my mother decided it was time to move, I was at a loss of how to deal with all the items that would not move with her. A friend told me about Empty the Nest and they took care of everything. Sharon came to walk through the house, explain the process, assess the cost of the move and the value of the items they can sell. Within a day she had emailed an estimate of what our net cost would be and confirmed our scheduled date. At the day of the clean out, Cory arrived at the scheduled time, walked through the home with me to mark the items that were not to be removed, and immediately began to sort through the items by sell, donate, recycle and toss. About 90 minutes later the two-man crew arrived to load the sorted items into the truck. They were all professional, polite and respectful throughout the day. I highly recommend Empty the Nest to anyone who is faced with downsizing a home and needs help going through the process.

It took a few days to get a return call for setting up appointment for an estimate. Once we received that call, appointment and date for picking up items happened quicker than expected. They were prompt on arrival and pleasant to work with. Price was similar to another estimate we received. Time estimated for pickup was much more in line with actual time needed vs other estimate. Would recommend them, especially if you have only a few items suitable for resale. Cost depends on how much stuff (time needed) you have.

Showed up as scheduled, thorough job, took everything, which is what is needed to "wrap up" a move out after living there 60 years. They make effort to get items into the hands of people who need them, including their own thrift store, were we saw our items being actively sold (and selling the same day). Cost is $X less the estimated $Y they expect to get selling your items and you then pay $Z if the proceeds will be less than the cost of the manpower to move everything out.

The crew was timely and efficient. The services we're as promised. No surprises.. We especially appreciated that ETN worked with local charities to ensure that all items found a new home.

Empty the next did a wonderful job. They had a dumpster delivered the morning of the cleanup. It took two days. They donated and recycled as much as possible. The removed a 22 cubic foot chest freezer from the basement. The only thing they couldn't take is paint which we brought to hazardous waste for disposal.

They came in with a crew of 4 and worked from about 9 am until 3 pm. They sorted through everything and recycled or moved items to sell maximizing what was available. It was amazing. This is a great group of people recovering from many issues. You will be very pleased.

Sharon met me at the house the same day I called, gave me an estimate and set up the date. In the interim, our buyers asked to keep several additional items and Sharon was able to be flexible about that. The work was completed in about 3 1/2 hours for the price agreed upon. Amy was extremely thorough, found some things that my sisters and I had missed in our earlier inspections and was careful to ask about items she was unsure about taking. I felt very comfortable with this company, and I know my mom would be happy to know her things were treated with respect and would be used to help others.

They were efficient and thorough, and even though they had to take some extra time, the flat rate they offered still was in effect. They took everything out that we could not use, and provided it to other families who might be in need of those things. We assume that some things were just tossed out, and that is part of their service. The apartment was clean and empty when they left.

Great the cost estimate was what I was charged $600. To remove all the kitchen dishes gauget ext. ,dining room set ,one bed room set and a half of a garage full of house hold products. 12 large bags of clothes, jackets winter clothes. At times they came acrosss items that my daughter did as a child and some pictures in a tub of christmas decorations. I kept them and did'nt realize they were in with the give away pile. That was very nice they did'nt have to check it out with me What I did not know is they do not give you a inventory of all they took. They go though everything but you need to write down what was donated for tax purposes. so write down everything before they come or you'll forget just how many things they took. It went so well for me we had them clean out my father's home.

Although the $2500 fee was hefty, the homeowners got a tax donation form saying that $1,500 was tax deductible. That means they could resell much of the furniture. The crew arrived on time. They were very careful going through the remaining stuff. If they had any doubt about whether what was there was personal stuff, they left it and let the homeowners know. The house, except for the appliances, was left basically empty. What a wonderful service! My friends would give Empty The Nest top ratings and recommend them to anyone.

I LOVE THESE PEOPLE! The whole concept is wonderful, when you are as busy as I am, and need to clear out a house. I was putting my home on the market, after consolidating two households into one house. We had a lot of and quot;extraand quot; things, some of which I sold or gave away, but I began to run out of time and motivation. Having read a newspaper article on Empty The Nest, I decided to call them. After an evaluation of what I had left in the house, it was determined they would do the clean out at no charge to me. We scheduled a morning, and in a few hours my house was totally empty, ready for the cleaners!
I realize I could have gone through Craigslist to sell my bedroom set, or other items that Empty The Nest would now be selling...and I missed out on the charitable deduction on what they would bring to Goodwill, or wherever. However, my time became more valuable and they filled a very necessary need. I have since referred them to others who had the same challenges I faced, and they do consider Empty the Nest to be a life and time saver!

They were so great. We were very overwhelmed while moving, and they made things much easier on us. They didn't make us feel like they were just junk haulers. They worked very hard to dispose of things is the best way possible. If you are looking to find ways of getting rid of your junk without everything just going to a landfill, these are your people. They dispose of chemicals properly, ect.

I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly the team was able to disassemble 50 years of accumulation. I had spent months trying to sort through the massive amounts of stuff. It took six people a day and a half to gather, sort and remove a lifetimes worth of memories from the house. The first day went by quickly. The team asked questions and was respectful. The second day was tense. A different lead was in charge. She wasn't interested in asking me questions, nor was she pleased when I changed my mind about keeping or donating something. She was also in a hurry to leave to get to another job. I recommend that Chris work in the background and not on site with the team. Under Chris's direction, things were left behind that I wanted gone and they didn't sweep the floors after they finished. While I tried to stay out of their way, there were some areas I hadn't gone through very thoroughly. Chris told me it would be easier for the team to work if I just got out of the way. It would have been a more positive experience without Chris. Overall I was pleased with the work they did and the end result., The work accomplished was amazing.

We're an elderly couple, with out name on a waiting list for an apartment in a senior assisted living facility. We have lived in our current house (900+ square feet) since 1954. We have a finished basement with multiple rooms, an outside double garage, a lean to on the garage plus a utility shed in the back yard. They were all full of and quot;stuffand quot; I (wife) am not in good health and I am the sole caregiver of my husband who is a complete invalid. There was no way I could start cleaning any of this out and I learned of Empty trhe Nest from and quot;Gentle Transitionsand quot;. It was the best money I ever spent.
I spoke with Sharon (owner and mgr) when she came to survey the project. We made the agreement for 8/1/11 and she her crew were here right on time, even though we had a cloudburst the first day. Within two days everything was empty according to agreement.
I highly recommend and quot;Empth the nestand quot; to anybody who wants to move, clean out or anything along that line. They're young with a lot of vitality, friendly and very professional.
