"We are very satisfied with the minisplit system installation. The equipment works great. The installation team did a fantastic job explaining what they were going to do, getting it done and cleaning up before they left."
"Let me tell you about my journey to get solar panels installed at my house. We started several years ago thinking about solar and possibly having panels installed on our house. Unfortunately, our house is not a good candidate because of the number of trees we have. We were quite disappointed and shelved the idea. During this past Spring we talked to several local businesses about solar panel installation and started researching again. We decided to see if we could do an in-yard system and it seemed like it was possible. After more exploration we met one of the owners of Champion Solar of Winona, MN. During our conversation with him we decided to explore a design for our backyard. We also talked to a neighbor who has a roof mounted system from Champion Solar. After some consideration we thought Champion Solar would work for us and signed the contract. I am very happy with Champion Solar and the service they provided. The installation process was smooth and the employees were very knowledgeable and helpful. The solar arrays are working great and I am starting to save money on my electricity bill. I would highly recommend Champion Solar to anyone considering solar panels. Here is what impressed me with the entire process of getting my in-ground solar array installed: * Knowledgeable and helpful employees. From the owner, project manager, foreman, master electrician, site engineer, they all worked together as a team and there was no job too big nor too small for any of them to contribute *The team went the extra mile and let two young boys, neighbor children (5 and 8 years old), help during one day of the project. The boys even ate lunch in our yard with the team. And at the end of the project they wrote each boy a very nice thank you card * Design process was easy and it did not take too many iterations to achieve an appropriate sized system that maximized our arrays, while accommodating our electric companyâ s needs, and getting us the maximum rebate. We have two arrays, one facing south (16 panels) and one facing southwest (10 panels) * The price was good and they guided us through tax credits and rebates * They worked through all approval processes to get the job okayed and started * They worked fast requiring four days of work to build the rack system for the panels, do the electrical work for the interconnection, trench the yard for the power lines etc., install the panels and micro-inverters, and finishing work * Smooth installation process plus the team was present for inspections and the interconnection to the electrical coop * Solar arrays are working great and I am starting to save money on the electricity bill Overall, I am very happy with Champion Solar and the service they provided. I would highly recommend them to anyone considering solar panels."
"North Peak Installed a smart SPAN panel. Very fair price. They were on time with great communication. So happy with them; going to use them more for several other projects including Tesla Powerwalls, Solar and more!"
"My God! Dan came out this morning, I explained what was done, he went to work on it right away!
My furnace stopped working December 25th, 2024, no heat till today! Keep in mind, the last technician I hired in January 2025, charged me 240 dollars for 20 minutes analysis just to tell me I need new furnace and AC central, my AC works beautifully. Then I used 4 space heaters to keep my house warm! Man my electric bill was over 400 dollars the first month and climbing higher each coming months till Spring arrived!
I hired B & D Plumbing and Heater Co. to come out and finish the job. It was a gentleman name Dan, he did an extremely awesome job, telling me the details, explaining everything I needed to knowledge. And now the furnace works about as good as it gets beautifully. The impressive part, he took his sweet time. And the most impressive part was when he presented my total bill! I was about to have a major heart attack when I saw the bill! It wasn’t through the roof bill! Cheap cheap"

"Fantastic Installation experience with Home Energy Center! Top notch communication and wonderful care for our home. They went above and beyond with communicating on rebates, warranty, and next steps to close out the permits. Although solar panels harness the sun's power, they come at an environmental cost. The manufacturing process requires large amounts of water and involves hazardous materials like cadmium, silicon, and gallium arsenide. These materials don’t pose safety hazards while the panels are in use but can pose a problem when left in landfills. Over time, hazardous materials can leach into the environment. This is why recycling solar panels whenever possible is better than taking them to landfills.
Yes, you should tell your home insurance company about your solar panels. Even if you believe they’re covered by your existing policy, installing a solar panel system is a significant change to your home. This can affect coverage and premiums. By discussing your new solar panel installation with your insurance provider, you can be sure you have enough coverage and that the policy completely covers the panels against damage.
Solar batteries can be a great investment to help maximize your solar savings and make your system and home more valuable, but they’re most beneficial to customers who don’t have access to net metering. If your state or energy provider doesn’t provide net metering, batteries can be a great way to offset consumption even when your panels aren’t producing power. They also come with the added benefit of providing electricity through blackouts, so they’re valuable in areas prone to severe weather that could cause frequent blackouts. Your installer can help you decide if batteries are worthwhile.
Installing solar panels involves drilling small holes in your roof to secure the solar panel mounting brackets. These brackets hold the solar panels in place and must withstand strong weather conditions so they’re secured into your roof. However, holes and screws are sealed to prevent leaking and further damage.
Solar panels can pay for themselves in five to 15 years, depending on the cost of your system, how much energy it generates, whether you qualify for incentives or power buybacks, and the price of energy in your area. Solar panels pay for themselves over time as they lower electricity bills, so it will take time to recoup your initial investment. However, the longer you have your system, the more money you can save and earn.
