"We had an excellent experience with this interior painter. From the initial estimate to the final walkthrough, everything was handled professionally and with great attention to detail. The quality of the work exceeded our expectations?was flawless and beautiful! Best of all the entire space was left clean and tidy each day. They were punctual, communicative, and properly prepare the surfaces, which really showed in the finished result. Our home looks refreshed and beautiful, and we?ve received several compliments. I would highly recommend this painter to anyone looking for high-quality interior painting work. We will definitely use their services again for future projects."

"Ivan was great to work with. We had him replace siding and all windows, paint outside, a new front door, paint all walls and ceilings inside, replace counter-tops, paint cabinets and trim, remove an interior wall and bar, replace all sinks, add new lighting plus numerous small projects. He checked in daily to make sure the work was getting done properly. We encountered some delays (much of which was out of his control) but he always did everything in his power to make things right. He was willing to do whatever it took to make us happy. He treated us with integrity and the prices were very reasonable. We love the new look to the house and would definitely use him again"

"It went fairly well - it took some time to get it scheduled and the person came about 15 minutes late, but he did an excellent job. Also, when the paint was not adhering properly in the second bathroom, the worker called the owner, and the three of us decided that I should double check to see if there was a leak or mold in the wall before continuing with the job. The owner also did not charge the full amount since the second bathroom was not painted. The worker left the bathroom and bedroom very clean. I'd love to hire them again, but it can be difficult to get a call back at times."

"My experience with Jared and Paula couldn’t have went any better and I love my new kitchen! They were on time, communicated daily even when I had a ton of questions choosing a color. I am so impressed with the quality and durability of my cabinets. They even painted my kitchen for free! I will definitely use them again in the near future!"

"Ecolecuá offers a unique collaborative approach with her clients. On our project, she struck the perfect balance; she listened to our ideas and feedback but very much maintained her role as the creative expert, making us feel comfortable the entire time. I would absolutely recommend Ecolecuá with no hesitation. With all she has done, she is going to find the right approach for just about any client. Aileen Dominguez Dentist, Boston, Massachusetts"

"I had Grant and Simon prep and stain my new deck. It’s a pretty large deck and they were able to finish it all in one day! Grant was very helpful and knowledgeable when it came to picking the correct stain and choosing the best time to do the work (weather permitting). They were very easy to work with and I would absolutely recommend Unshaken Painting for outdoor deck staining."

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

You don’t necessarily have to remove all the old paint before repainting your deck, but it’s best to remove as much as possible to ensure a smooth and long-lasting finish. Prioritize scraping off loose, peeling, or flaking paint, and sand down rough areas to create a smooth surface for the new paint to bond with.

To remove painted-over hinges for replacement or paint removal, you should use a utility knife to score around the edges of the hinges gently. Work very carefully so as not to damage the surrounding area. From there, you can unscrew the hinges and gently pry them off the door, making sure not to bend the metal.

You can apply stain over peeling stain, but it’s not a good idea. Your old stain will get in the way of your new stain bonding to the wood, so you’re likely going to see the same issue again shortly after application. Your best option is to sand off the old stain and clean the surface thoroughly before applying new stain.

Penetrating sealer seeps into concrete pores to protect it from moisture and staining, cracking, and mold caused by water. This means you cannot remove penetrating sealers like topical sealers. The good news is that penetrating sealant doesn’t have to be removed before resealing, as most topical sealers must. Instead, you’ll want to buy a compatible penetrating sealant (often the same kind already in the concrete) and apply it. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

Yes, but with caution. A floor grinder is intended to level and polish concrete, so it is a very powerful tool. To remove paint, the floor grinder should be set to 35 square feet per minute or less to minimize the pressure without the use of pocket weights. You might need to go over the surface two times to get any paint that has sunk into the concrete’s pores.
