"Anders at Quality Carpentry and Remodeling is the best in the business! High quality craftsmanship and reasonably priced. He remodeled our entire basement and helped us to navigate many other small projects along the way. He’s the only contractor we call now, for projects large or small. Stop calling around and call him now - you will be happy you did!"

"We had Garden Structures & More add onto the beautiful privacy fence they had previously built for us, and we couldn't be happier with the final result. Our new and improved fence is even better than we had envisioned due to owner/designer/craftsman Hal's excellent ideas. All work was completed in a timely and professional manner. We truly enjoyed working with Hal and wouldn't hesitate to have him do our next home project. "

"We were extremely satisfied by all three phases completed by Kastle Construction. The roof was done first by Randy and his crew, they did a fantastic job. The windows and siding were installed by Brett and Allison and the finish project exceeded expectations. We commend all of them for being hard workers and paying close attention to detail and craftsmanship. We would highly recommend them."

"We had almost our entire upper level remodeled including kitchen, living room, hallways, trim, and paint. Levell was absolutely awesome to work with and did an amazing job. Levell worked within our budget and had many ideas and remedies to help us save money, but still get exactly what we wanted. Can’t say enough good things about him and have already had several family members get some work done."

Modular and Mobile Home Remodel questions, answered by experts

A whole house surge protector isn’t safe to use without a ground because it needs somewhere to dump the excess voltage. Surge protectors accomplish this by using metal oxide varistors to send the unneeded current to the ground line. Without this ground, the voltage will flow to nearby materials, which could shock people, damage the home, and potentially start an electrical fire.

Whether you need electrical upgrades depends on the electronics your game room includes. If your game room will have high-powered electronics, arcade machines, or a home theater, you may need to upgrade your electrical panel or add dedicated circuits. An electrician can assess your current system and provide an estimate for any necessary upgrades.

Yes, many remodels include electrical upgrades for lighting, outlets, or charging stations. Confirm with your contractor.

You can use an extension cord to power a shed—but only temporarily. Extension cords are not permanent solutions. Running too much power through the cord can overload it, overheat it, and start a fire. Go ahead and grab an extension cord if you need to power a work tool or appliance during your annual spring cleanout, but make sure you use a heavy-duty, thick-gauge cord to minimize shorting risks. A 16- to 10-gauge cord should do the trick (the smaller gauge, the better).

These are some of the critical considerations when planning to make your home accessible:

  • How wide are your doorways, wheelchair ramps, hallways, and pathways? These should be at least 32 inches wide.

  • Which bathroom modifications will be necessary?

  • Do you need to lower any cabinetry or other fixtures to make them accessible for wheelchair users?

  • Is there enough room to turn around in the shower?

  • Is there a second story of the home that requires a stair lift?

  • Is there proper lighting outside in the dark? If not, a floodlight may be necessary.
