"Was the lowest quote I received for replacing my water heater. Talked to him on Friday - water heater was installed by Monday evening and working perfectly. Highly recommended. Did a great job. Very responsive to questions and had the best price. The will allow you to buy your own water heater and just pay them for installation."

"Trident Bath and Shower did an outstanding job ripping out our tub and putting in a safer and more convenient shower for us. We loved how they worked with us to find the most affordable and efficient solution for our bathroom. They all are such kind, honest, and wonderful people. From the first phone call to the rep coming to our home and educating us, to the final installation. Everything went better than we could’ve imagined! Definitely the best bath company we’ve dealt with!"

"The entire process from the initial quote delivered by Alex Heigle to job completion was handled with a great deal of professionalism and care. The crew from the Inver Grove Heights Branch: Erik, Jeremy and Jeremiah did great work with stabilizing our sinking garage. At times they had to make course corrections to overcome issues that popped up. However all the alternatives were explained plainly and in great detail so we could make sound decisions. We were very satisfied with the quality of our newly, renovated garage foundation. We would highly recommend Innovative Basement Authority."

"I called for asbestos abatement bids last fall, and got three. The Minnesota Department of Health has an asbestos department, and they were able to look up the records of companies I had identified, to tell me what kinds of inspection infractions they had had in recent months/years. I found this reassuring and helpful in choosing contractors (and avoiding others) from whom to request bids. In March, I called Envirobate back, and asked if they'd still be able to give me the price quoted in the fall, working with my General Contractor. Yes. My GC scheduled them to come out in two weeks time. The day before, my GC called to check on arrival time for the next day, and was told Envirobate hadn't pulled a permit, and so we had to delay start of our project until the following week. (B for punctuality.) The work appeared to be completed well, my GC was also happy with how and where they cut the pipes as previously marked by our heating contractor. When asked if they'd also take out and dispose of the old boiler, they agreed, keeping in mind the delayed start of one week."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Snaking a toilet is similar to clearing sinks and bathtubs, but there are unique circumstances where you’d have to drain, disassemble, and remove the toilet to fix the clog. For stubborn clogs in the toilet trap, a toilet auger—designed with a shorter cable and a protective plastic encasing—can navigate the tight bends and clear the clog without risking damage to the porcelain.

It is safe to flush the toilet even if the pipes are frozen, and this may even help clear out the pipes. But if the supply line is frozen, the toilet won’t refill itself until it’s thawed out. You can still flush by pouring water into the tank to refill it.

A hose bib is typically located on an exterior wall of the home, about 6 to 18 inches from the ground or on a deck floor. It will have a top handle that you use to turn the water supply on and off. It will also have a male hose thread, or MHT, on the outlet side, where you would connect a hose.

Yes, drains are one common entry point for water bugs. However, water bugs may enter your home through various locations including doors, windows, pipes, and vents. Water bugs are drawn to the dark and moist atmosphere drains provide, and can easily find their way into your home through sewer drain pipes. You can stop water bugs from entering through drains by regularly cleaning your drains and repairing faulty drainage systems.

Even though their jobs sound similar—both professions work on pipes—a plumber and pipefitter actually have very different jobs, and pipefitting isn’t considered plumbing. Pipefitting is done in commercial and industrial buildings and factories, and the pipes carry gas, chemicals, acid, and other potentially hazardous substances. Pipefitters often work in intense conditions while plumbers may work in lower-pressure environments.
