Horrible communication and the owner is flat out not a pleasant person to deal with. Very rude and unresponsive. Was not impressed one bit with pretty much anything they did. Price was too high for quality and they just flat out don't care about your happiness with the end product. You can tell just by the way they handle things. Look elsewhere!!!"

After stripping the deck there were a few more boards where some rotting was identified and Barak and his team replaced them promptly. Stain looks great and made an immediate difference. I had been contemplating if my 20 year old deck was too far gone and needed replacing... but after seeing what Barak could do with stripping the old paint off, replacing some bad boards, and staining... While most stains will be dry to the touch within 12 hours, it can take up to 48 hours to fully cure. That means that while your stain might not be sticky within 12 hours, it’s still not recommended to get it wet or touch it until it’s had a chance to set for at least 24 to 48 hours.

You can paint over old paint on a concrete porch. For the best results, you should first clean the surface and remove as much paint as you can. A power washer is helpful here, but you’ll also want to scrape as much of the old paint away as possible. Then you should prime the porch before repainting it.

You should treat your deck with stain or sealer every two to three years to ensure it stays durable and protected from the elements. If you have a painted deck, we suggest repainting it every 10 years. You should clean your deck annually and inspect it for loose or damaged boards, screws, and nails. By maintaining your wood deck, you ensure its longevity, durability, and appearance.

Your tool of choice ultimately comes down to personal preference. Many DIYers prefer applying stain with a lint-free rag, but others stick with a paint brush or a roller. Wipe the stain and work it into the wood, working with and against the grain. If you’re applying multiple coats, allow the stain to dry for around four hours between coats.

Stain is meant to be absorbed by the porous wood, allowing some of the natural grain to show through. With that in mind, you don’t want to add more stain than the wood can absorb, as you risk covering up its natural markings. Generally, two coats is the maximum you should do, although very dense hardwoods may only be able to take a single coat.
