"From start to finish, Envirobate was professional, punctual and very easy to deal with.

I had a walkthrough appointment with Jeff first.  He got back to me over email with a proposal - without much delay.  He was fast.   They were very accommodating for scheduling -  my project plan was to have the asbestos flooring abatement done on Monday and Tuesday to have a flooring company install a new flooring.  Matt was right on time Monday morning as scheduled and he answered any questions I had.  He talked directly to the installation company's manager about the floor preparation when I asked him to ( there was a question about needing to remove the whole subflooring or not).  The area being abated was fairly small : about 145 s.f.    I did a walk through of the rooms before Matt left.  There was no mess and the floors looked ready for the installation crew.    He pointed out a doorway area that could be a potential problem for the installers but   I figured a door transition piece would handle a small difference in height.  It looked good to me.  He said to contact them if there was any problem with the doorway area.

Tuesday morning is when my great plan fell apart. The floor installer showed up, looked at the doorway area and said that it was a problem. He told me it needed abatement  to have it fixed and he left with my flooring materials.  Small story short, the flooring installation manager came that afternoon, did a site visit and he showed me that some subflooring needed to be removed by abatement before they could do installation.   I contacted Jeff that I had a problem using email; He responded promptly  - said not to worry and said "We'll be happy to come back".   Envirobate is dependable!  Matt showed up at 8am on the scheduled day, right on time  - took out the subflooring area and removed the problem.  There was no extra charge for the 2nd visit.   I would not hesitate to hire Envirobate again.  It's peace of mind to hire them."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

Sink Installation questions, answered by experts

Many parts of your plumbing system can fail, but clogged drains are one of the biggest plumbing problems you’ll likely encounter. From your kitchen sink, bathroom sink, or bathtub, there are plenty of opportunities for gunk, hair, food scraps, and more to get stuck in drains. When this happens, water will slowly drain, leading to standing water, bad odors, drain flies, and other issues.

Many homeowners can handle a minor clog themselves, but if you have a clog in your main line, you’re best off hiring a local plumber to get the drain back to its normal flow rate.

Yes, there are different size sink drains, but a 1 ½-inch-diameter drain is the most common modern drain size. However, some sink drains are 2 inches or 3 inches in diameter. A bathroom sink drain is 1 ¼ inches in diameter, and kitchen sink drainpipes are 1 ½ inches in diameter.

Today’s standard sink stopper size is 1.5 inches. However, you can still find different sizes if your house uses an older sink stopper. Other sizes you can find in most hardware stores include one inch, 1-1/4 inch, 1-3/8 inch, 1-5/8 inch, 1-7/8 inch, 2 inch, 2-1/4 inch, 2-3/8 inch, and 2.5 inch.

Hairline cracks—tiny cracks in the surface—in porcelain sinks can happen due to age, chemical damage from cleaning products, dropping heavy objects on the sink, thermal shock from drastic temperature changes, stress during repairs, and manufacturing errors. Hairline cracks often start very small and grow longer and wider over time. While they may appear problematic, hairline cracks don’t indicate structural problems and may not impact the performance of sinks. However, they can eventually cause water leaks and mold growth if left to grow.

Wall-mounted faucets are installed 6 to 8 inches above the countertop. The height you choose is very significant because the wrong choice will lead to a faucet that splashes water everywhere. Your installer should have a good recommendation based on your sink type, size, and shape. A good installer will ensure the sink is comfortable and splash-free.
