Landscapes Unlimited is the Minneapolis landscaping design/build company with a distinguished reputation for superiority in design, architecture, construction, landscape care, and customer service. Our distinguished landscape design portfolio is full of creative ideas for outdoor structures, lighting, patios, bars, decks, retaining walls, fire features, sports courts, and swimming pool design. Our hard-working team of landscapers serves clients in metro Minneapolis, St. Paul, the Twin Cities suburbs.
"I do NOT recommend Landscapes Unlimited for any landscaping project. I dealt with so many different contractors for various projects in my home, and all ended with a very pleasant experience. Before engaging Landscapes Unlimited on a large project, I had no idea that I would have go through the same stress and experience at every stage that Landscapes Unlimited gave to us. Quality of work is terrible, schedule is totally unpredictable, project manager who is supposed to be on site every day is hardly seen, and surprises on new damages every other day – they damaged the gas line, sprinkler system, plumbing, and the list goes on. They caused so much erosion issue all over on our property that even our nice neighbors got annoyed and filed a complaint against them to the city. In terms of the quality of work, cracked pathway, uneven patio floors, sunk seating benches are just a few examples of many. Their crews are so incapable they can’t even follow the planting instructions to install flower plants. They installed 57 plants and about 40 of them died – they started dying within a month after they planted. And their warranty – good luck! They play all kinds of tricks and games to bail them out of the warranty. With me, each time they came up with a reason for not covering them under warranty, I provided them the evidence to negate their points. After they tried 4-5 times when they ran out of all the excuses, they just said they are unable to provide any warranty support without any good cause. I wanted to share my bitter experience on Landscapes Unlimited here to make you aware of what might be coming to you if you choose Landscapes Unlimited for your any landscaping project. In the event you decide to go with them, make sure to read and understand all the small fonts of the contract before signing, never pay 50% of the contract value in advance, and most importantly make all conversations in writing (e.g. email recap of your verbal conversation) because they deny saying so unless you can prove them otherwise."

Build swimming pools, hot tubs, chemicals, retail, service, liner replacement, outdoor kitchens, grills, fire tables
"UNETHICAL BUSINESS, STAY AWAY. My experience with the service department of this company was less than one star. Here are some key takeways: (1) price gouging, (2) untrained technicians, (3) non-transparent pricing, (4) requirement that a credit card be left on permanent file with the company in order to schedule service, (5) won't schedule service while the homeowner is home but rather shows up without notice, (6) aggresively rude Service Manager (Jesse Peterson), and (7) unethical practices."

The average cost of an above-ground pool is between $1,100 and $5,700. Costs will vary depending on the type of pool you install. The low end of the price range includes a DIY kit for around $800 and goes up to about $15,000 for a custom pool with extra features like a deck and water features. Building an above-ground pool is much faster than installing an inground one. The cost tends to be much lower for an above-ground pool than for an inground pool because there’s less labor involved, especially when it comes to excavation and running plumbing and electrical lines.
Installing an inground pool costs around $55,000, on average. The typical price range is between $39,000 and $70,000, depending on the size and type of pool and accessibility of the site. This project requires an experienced pool installation contractor as the project usually involves extensive excavation, plumbing, electrical, concrete, and careful grading of the concrete or pavers around the pool.
Adding a spa to a pool is worth it if you use it enough. Adding a built-in spa to an inground pool can cost between $15,000 and $20,000, on top of installing the pool. A separate hot tub costs between $5,000 and $8,000. These prices will vary depending on the hot tub's size, type, and features. Additional costs include maintenance, electricity, and plumbing.
From start to finish, building an inground pool takes anywhere from two to four months. Factors that impact time to completion include any weather delays, material delays or shortages, scheduling conflicts, and any unforeseen challenges. The project may take most of the pool season, depending on where you live. Because of this, it’s a good idea to start getting estimates and finding a qualified pool company at least a year before your anticipated installation. Spring and summer is the busy season for pool contractors, which impacts their availability as projects are typically booked for several weeks if not months.
