"I signed up for furnace special cleaning of $49 and I added air conditioning cleaning for an additional $49. I have had very little use of my A/C and it is only 6 years old. I have no problems with it. The tech replaced 2 parts and told me the cooling fluid will be outlawed in 2020. That doesn't apply to me because I would be grandfathered in with my fluid. He replaced two parts, which I believe were unnecessary, but I authorized it. He also thought there was a leak and said he's be back in the spring to check it. When all was said and done, the bill was $957 plus the $49 already paid through Angie's list. I have an invoice carbon that is unreadable and I have asked for another but have not received one. This was a clean-up job, not a service call. I'm not having them back and I'm cancelling my Angie's list subscription."

"Ken Wilhelm did a fantastic job steam cleaning our shower. Initially, he emailed me a detailed estimate and then came out to look at the shower and get me a more detailed quote which ended up right in line with what he had originally estimated. He was incredibly professional, honest, and knowledgeable, even helping me find and order the proper cleaning products so that I could maintain the shower myself in the future.

When researching cleaners, I did get a much cheaper estimate but decided to go with Ken because he was much clearer in his estimate and I didn't get the feeling that the final cost would end up skyrocketing from the original estimate (which I suspected might happen with the cheaper quote).

The quality of cleaning was top-notch. The shower looks almost like new again despite its disgusting appearance beforehand. I would absolutely recommend Wilhelm Hard Service Restorations to anyone in need of steam cleaning or other work with natural stone. I'm sure I'll be calling him up again in a year or two when we need the shower cleaned again, regrouted, or even for a carpet cleaning."

"Levell and crew have done several jobs for us now. They finished our basement adding 4 bedrooms and a bath. They also had to put in 2 egress windows. The last time they did work for us they did kitchen and bathroom backsplashes and installed some flooring on our stairwell. Would highly recommend and will hire again"

"Beautiful! All subs respectful, professional and full of great ideas to make the house look great. Color coordination of house, trim and roof. Many neighbors have stopped and commented on the new look of the house. and on how polite and nice the workers were. Also, the yard was continually cleaned up as the old roof came off and at the end of each day"

"Hal and his crew did an excellent job on all of my projects.  Hal is skilled and reliable.  Finally, he is trustworthy with your projects.  He goes the extra mile for his clients!
Hal managed the projects for me.  All I needed to do was tell him what I wanted, and he took care of everything.  He recommended materials and gave me good information to make decisions.  Hal and his crew completed the projects and left my house very neat and clean.  I highly recommend Hal as a handyman.
PS-He loves animals and pays special attention to mine when he is at my house working on a project."

Drain Cleaning FAQs, answered by experts

No. You should dispose of all oil-based finishing products through a local hazardous waste program. Not only can oil-based finishes be hazardous for the environment if disposed of in the sink, but they can cause clogs in your pipes and stop up your drains. Most municipal garbage or waste disposal companies have a specific location or pick-up schedule for hazardous materials, so that’s your best bet to get rid of excess finishing products.

First, find the cleanout pipe in your yard. Unscrew the cap—you may need a wrench to do so. Then, get a drain snake. You can use a non-motorized one, but a motorized snake will make the job a little easier. Feed the snake through the pipe until it reaches the clog. Spin the snake continuously, but don’t try to feed it through the pipe anymore. Keep spinning until you feel it break the clog apart.

It is not advisable to use drain cleaner in a washing machine. Drain cleaners contain harsh chemicals that can damage the internal components of your washer, including rubber seals, hoses, and even the drum. These chemicals can also react with any residual detergent or fabric softener, potentially leading to noxious fumes. If your washing machine is experiencing drainage issues, it's best to address the problem directly by inspecting and cleaning the lint filter, checking for clogs in the drain hose, or seeking professional repair services. Using drain cleaner in a washing machine is a risky solution that can cause more harm than good.

There are several steps you can take to prevent your AC drain from clogging. This includes cleaning the drain line at least every three months, changing the filter every one to three months, and getting your AC serviced annually. Also, if any problems arise with your AC, hire an HVAC technician to deal with them ASAP.

You can unclog an AC drain line for free if you already have these household ingredients: water, vinegar, and rags. Alternatively, if you’d rather not deal with the mess, you can hire a pro to clear your drain line. If you go that route, an HVAC service call costs between $100 and $250.
