Halvorsen Sewer and Drain Cleaning is your neighborhood drain cleaning specialist, serving the Minneapolis Metro area for more than three decades. Locally owned and operated, we take great pride in providing high quality work at an affordable price. Steve Halvorsen started the company back in 1983 with a focus on quality service and customer satisfaction. We quickly became a trusted provider of sewer service and are highly respected in our industry. Owner Eric Vonzel continues that tradition today with our company's commitment to taking care of all of your sewer and drain needs.

"I cannot recommend Eric and Halvorsen Sewer Service highly enough. They have integrity, great pricing, and great service. He saved me from bring ripped-off by a large sewer company to the tune of thousands of dollars. Our sewer backed up on a Sunday and as a first-time homeowner experiencing something like that for the first time, I panicked and called a large sewer/plumbing company. They came out right away and cleared the sewer line. They brought out a guy with a camera who scoped our sewer line and told me it was broken and required an emergency replacement, costing $17,000+ to replace the entire sewer line. I called around for a 2nd opinion and found Halvorsen Sewer Service. Eric responded to me on a Sunday, expressing concern with the assessment by the large company and offering to come take a look at it for me the next day. Eric used his camera and quickly told me that the sewer line WASN'T BROKEN. The perceived break was a buildup of concrete slurry on the bottom of the pipe, causing some water to pool. Eric cleared the concrete slurry from the pipe and told me that he did not think any repairs were necessary. He even provided me with a copy of the video of my sewer line which the large company did not do. I sent the video to a 3rd company and they confirmed Eric's opinion that no repairs to the sewer line were necessary. Halvorson Sewer Service did an incredible job cleaning the sewer line and getting all of the things the large company missed, at a MUCH more competitive price. He educated me thoroughly and gave me great advice on how to maintain the sewer line going forward. If you have sewer line cleaning or inspection needs, I cannot recommend Eric and Halvorsen Sewer highly enough."

A Message From The Owner Hello, I'm Justin Moe. My father and I founded All Ways Drains over 14 years ago. Now, my wife, Amy, and I run the company. We like the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. We grew up here so it's home to us. We're proud to contribute to our community by volunteering with the organization, Feed My Starving Children, and a new Salvation Army facility for homeless veterans. We are also proud to be members of the Minnesota Multi-Housing Association, Community Association Institute, Minnesota Shopping Center Association, and the Better Business Bureau. 24/7 Fast Response: We understand that when you have a clogged drain, whether you're a homeowner, property manager, or a business owner, you want to reach a live person and get the clog handled Now. At All Ways Drains, a live person from our company answers your call 24/7. We provide fast response times 24/7. Quality at Reasonable Prices: Most of our business is repeat and referrals because we service you the way you would expect from a family-owned business. We have an A+ Rating on Angie's List, and the Better Business Bureau has given us an A+ Rating. Our motto is "Professional" Pipe Cleaning and Inspection.

"I called on 6/8/21 and made an appointment for 6/10. Nathan, who took my phone call, also took my credit card # and said I would receive my receipt via email. That was fine with me. On 6/10 the technician was to arrive between 12-3 pm. I got a call at 2:25 that he would be late. It was 3:50 when he arrived. He cleared the drains, and as expected, he did not deal with any payment or paperwork. As of today, 8/9/21, I have not received any receipt. I have called 3 times, in June and July. I spoke to Nathan twice, and he referred me to the accounting department and even gave me a specific day to call. It was on 7/9 that I left a message for accounting, but no one has called back. My credit card was charged over a month ago. I find this part of the business sloppy and unprofessional. I probably wouldn't hire again."

"Alex let me know ahead that it would be emergency rates and what they were. He was knowledgeable, observant (Made sure it wasn't a floor drain by checking the toilet water level first), and honest. He told me there was a clean out plug he might break and when I asked him how much it was and he said a better version would cost $30 after seeing him try to be gentle with the old one, I figured it'd be cheaper to just break the old one and move on at emergency rates. He hit tree roots at 90 feet and cleared it out. Alex was a very pleasant guy, cleaned off the tires of the drain auger before he brought it down stairs, and did the job efficiently."

"Make sure you supervise the technician doing the work in your home. They do not use floor coverings or shoe coverings - which by the way they say is standard practice. It is not - you have to ask. In addition, they will not clean up after themselves - they move things, leave things (dirt, grime, whatever they bring in with them) and leave a mess. The owner is very unprofessional and will not take accountability for any liability related to their work or harm they do to your home. He will waste your time. They do work through Centerpoint Energy, so make sure you request another plumber - they are not honest or trustworthy in their word."

"We hired Soderlin Plumbing for our upstairs bathroom leak and repair. Our experience consisted of incompetent work, leaks, and attempting to bill us (twice) for work that was part of the original contract • Our new tub wasn’t properly vented upon installation. • Upon removal of the old vanity the sink drain needed to be relocated. We had plumber Ken return to do. We created an access through the main floor living room ceiling to re-route the drain and join it up with another upstairs bathroom drainpipe. (Since this wasn’t included in the original bid, we paid extra for this work.) • When scheduling the inspector, Ken told us to not let the inspector look at the tub drain (since it was a replacement there was no inspection needed on this work). He said it was done ‘correctly’ but keep the inspector looking at the sink drain and not the tub. • The inspector flagged the tub drain. • Ken returned to fix the issue and presented us with a $1,200 bill to fix what he didn’t do right. • My husband and I patched our living room ceiling and applied a labor-intensive Italian Carerra finish. • Soon afterward the living room ceiling began leaking at the joint where the 2 drains came together. • We fired Ken and had another plumber from Soderlin come out. Three holes were opened in the newly finished ceiling and was determined the ring around the joint wasn’t tight enough. • Immediately the blame game started saying it was the contractor (who did the ceiling) that caused the joint to leak. • My husband and I did the work and didn’t shove a 2x4 (that ran the length of the ceiling) under the pipe. The 2x4 in question had been there for years. • Jason in management insisted someone else caused the issue and refused to come and look at the 2x4 that was removed. He stood by his plumber Ken (who was the one who did a shoddy job on the tub ventilation and told us to not let an inspector look in that direction.) • We put this debate on the back burner and asked Jeff to come and finish our bathroom. The toilet, sink, and fixtures needed to be installed (the price of the toilet and installing the sink and fixtures was all included in the original bid.) • When Jeff put the fixtures on the tub and tested it, there was water on our living room floor. He had put an O-ring on incorrectly. • Jeff insisted we needed to pay $1139 for a new toilet and installation. He refused to look at the original paperwork showing the toilet and installation of sink and fixtures was included. • Jeff wouldn’t leave our property without a credit card number to pay a bill we didn’t owe."

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

In most states, companies that perform sewer cleaning services don’t need specific licensing, but you should always ensure you hire a licensed and certified plumber to get the work done. You can use our state licensing tool to check whether the potential sewer cleaning company holds a plumber’s certification and license. Hiring a certified sewer cleaning services guarantees that the work will be done safely, there won’t be additional damage done to your home, and the problem will be fixed.

Schedule regular inspections, fix minor issues promptly, and ensure proper drainage.

If you don’t have a sewer cleanout, clearing out clogs can be extremely difficult. You would need to try to clear the clog from sink drains, but it can be harder to reach the clog all the way in the drain line. A sewer cleanout makes it much faster and easier for pros to clear clogs from your main sewer line.

Thankfully, it’s pretty rare to find a rat in your toilet. It’s more likely in larger cities with big sewer systems that can be feeding grounds for rats, but even then, you still shouldn’t fret.

“I wouldn’t worry too much about rats coming up through the sewers,” Bradshaw says. “I’d say only one out of a thousand rodent customers we get actually have this problem. And of the 20 or some customers that have had this happen, they’ve all only had just one rat come up this way.”

If you’ll be digging up your floor to get access to your pipes when putting in a sewer backflow preventer, this would also be a good time to take care of any other plumbing issues or renovations. For example, you could install additional pipes for a basement bathroom. Since the floor will be sealed over with concrete when you’re done, now’s a good time to take care of those bigger tasks.
