Abrahamson Nursery was founded in Scandia in 1928 as a grower of nursery stock. We have since expanded to include landscape design and installation crews. In 1982 we opened our Stillwater location and in 2010 opened our St. Croix Falls location. All three locations have fully stocked garden centers and a full range of plant and hard-good materials. All three also have knowledgeable and experienced landscape designers that will work with you to create the ideal landscape plan for your home. Our design and installation crews specialize in both residential and commercial work. Our designers have many years of experience, both in the design office and in the field. This experience, combined with formal education in landscape architecture results in a well rounded design team. Our installers and designers will work together to make sure every detail of your plan is correctly installed. Abrahamson Nurseries has 7 full time employees that are certified by the Minnesota Nursery and Landscape Association and have many years of experience in the field.

"I can't recommend this company highly enough! I had some unruly shrubs and crowded perennials; it all looked rather messy. They trimmed the shrubs and dug up parts of the shrubs as we had discussed; they also divided some perennials. The plants look absolutely lovely now. Communication and scheduling were excellent, the price was very reasonable, and James even suggested some minor tweaks I hadn't thought of. Thank you so much, Mother Earth Gardens!!!! You guys are awesome, and I am a very happy customer."

We do work through out the Twin Cities area and in Western Wisconsin in the Webb Lake and Danbury WI Areas.

Painting countertops can take a few days to complete yourself. However, keep in mind that it can take up to 14 days for the sealer to cure. So, you want to make sure you wait the manufacturer's recommended amount of time before using your countertops after painting them.

A solarium is built almost entirely out of glass, whereas a sunroom is built using other materials for the walls and ceiling, with some windows added to the walls and possibly a skylight in the ceiling. However, the sunroom uses significantly less glass compared to the solarium. The solarium may not hold heat as well as a sunroom when built in colder climates. A sunroom can use different materials for insulation, and heating and cooling systems can more easily supplement the energy gained from sunlight.

Don’t forget to factor in the climate where you live during the planning stage. If your area is prone to bitter cold and heavy snow, you might want to invest in stronger greenhouse materials like a concrete slab, steel frame, and glass walls or plan to take your greenhouse down for the winter.

The only real drawback to green building is that it’s more expensive up front, with per-square-foot prices sitting 33% higher than what you’d pay to build a traditional home. The higher cost is due to more expensive building materials and more labor to ensure every aspect of the home is as efficient as possible. However, green buildings often save money in the long run, so this is just a temporary downside.

The choice is really yours. Greenhouses available in kits can make the job go quicker. You can find greenhouse kits to match your style and size needs. If you enjoy designing and planning, you can build your own from materials of your choosing. Just be sure to do your research beforehand so everything ends up structurally sound.
