While no countertop material is truly “heatproof,” granite countertops are extremely resistant to high temperatures. Some types of granite can withstand temperatures up to 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit. The downside is that Corian® isn’t as durable as quartz, particularly regarding its resistance to scratches and high temperatures.

The resin should be periodically sealed to help prevent it from wearing down or becoming porous. Very sharp or very hot objects can damage the resin surface, and there’s no way to fully repair it if that happens, so we recommend treating the counters well.

With proper maintenance, concrete countertops can last for decades, with a life expectancy of 50 years or more. At a minimum, they should last 20 years before major issues arise. Their longevity depends on the quality of materials, proper installation, and consistent care. Because concrete is porous, it is prone to cracking and staining. Regular maintenance, including resealing, waxing, and repairing any chips or cracks, is essential to preserve its lifespan.

You attach solid surface counters with construction adhesive. Once your slab is ready, you fit it to the wall, apply the adhesive, and secure it in place with clamps until the glue dries. This usually takes several days. 

Afterward, you install the backsplash, faucets, and more. At this point, you can caulk the counter, allow it to dry for 24 hours, and then you're done with the installation.
