"Worst company that I have ever worked it. In my experience, plain dishonest. They have not only made a terrible job on my furnace installation (which replacement need was questionable - my mistake of agreeing to it), they also damaged my perfectly working AC. Now, they are giving me the run around for 4 months to refund the AC damage. I've been calling multiple time per week and also went in person to their office. Before wasting your hard-earned money, pay them a visit at 9609 Girard Ave S, Bloomington, MN 55431 and get inside the office, then make your decision."

"I have a home warranty on my recently purchased home. The home warranty company contracts with BWS. The tech, Ryan G, came to my house on 6/24/21 to assess the plumbing issues I discovered after I purchased my home. He told me on 6/24 he would be requesting approval from my home warranty company for the repairs/replacements, then they would need to order parts, and once the parts arrived, would be able to schedule the service. It is 7/8/21. I have been trying to find out from my home warranty company about the delay. I was informed today by my home warranty company "regarding your plumbing request, the technician has not submitted a full diagnosis, but he did call in to advise us that this was a flipper house that was purchased as is and there was no inspection done on the home. I have requested the diagnosis from them. I will follow up with you once it is received." This comes as a HUGE surprise to me as I purchased the home for myself, for me to live in. The housing market is tough right now and many buyers are bypassing inspections so their offers don't get passed-over by sellers. It is definitely a fixer-upper since it was a cat and hoarder house that had been neglected for over 5 years by the previous owner. Someone prior to that owner had done quite a few DIY projects. The house has good bones and needs cosmetic work (flooring, walls, trim). I previously owned and lived in a 110 year old house for over a decade and did many of the renovations myself. I have YEARS of plans to make my new house and yard exactly what I want and need. After the purchase of my house, I had ripped out all of the cat-hair-and-grime-covered flooring, window trim, baseboards, and window treatments. And then I broke my arm. Now most of the projects I had planned are on hold as I cannot use my left arm for anything for at least a few more months. In the meantime, for my home to be ready for me to move in, I need some plumbing issues fixed that I discovered after the purchase of my home. Hence the request for repair through my home warranty that was sent to BWS. While the tech was at my house, I was displeased with his attitude and the way he spoke with me. He treated me as though I were unintelligent, didn't know what I was asking about with my house, didn't know what my home warranty contract covers, and was very dismissive. BWS has not performed any service. They have not followed through with making the request for approval of repair/replacement through my home warranty company. The BWS tech instead took it upon himself to go out of his way to call the home warranty company make false statements to them about me, my house, and my property. I sure hope this is not the type of customer service BWS does for everyone. But then maybe he treated me this way because I am female and have a broken arm."

"We first met Bob when our general contractor hired him to do the plumbing on our new bathroom. He was great for the whole experience, including helping us with other things coming up like our kitchen sink deciding to leak in the middle of the remodel. Our experience was so good during the remodel that we got his contact info for all future plumbing work. He's now helped us with a couple other small projects and is always great. Having a regular plumber for any job that might come up is such an awesome thing."

Gas Leak Repair questions, answered by experts

The cost to move a gas line is around $500 on average or $20 per linear foot . A pro will carefully disconnect the existing gas line and reroute it to its new path. This may involve excavation if the line is underground or drywall work to repair your walls and ceilings. The project will finish with a pressure test to check for leaks and turning the gas line back on.

Even if you invested in the cost of a gas shut-off valve for your oven and other appliances, it’s a good idea to add a seismic shut-off valve as an extra safety measure.

Gas shut-off valves for appliances are manual, meaning someone has to cut off the flow of gas. This leaves room for error, as you might not be home or might be too distracted to think about gas lines during an earthquake. An earthquake valve is automatic and will protect your home from gas-related disasters in the event of an earthquake.

In most cases, yes, it’s safe to light a gas water heater manually, but you should shut the gas off first, open a window, and let the space air out for about 10 minutes. Modern water heaters shut the gas off entirely if the pilot light goes out, but airing out the area beforehand is good practice and will ensure it’s safe to relight your pilot light manually. Just make sure you turn the gas valve to “pilot” before lighting. If the light keeps going out or won’t light at all, call in a professional.

Safety precautions include proper ventilation, regular inspections for leaks, and ensuring tanks and fittings are in good condition to prevent accidental release or fire hazards.

You can and should vent the gas from your hot water heater to the outside of your home. Traditionally, these gases were vented back to other gas appliances, like stoves or furnaces, but many jurisdictions have outlawed this practice due to the risks it provides.

Most water heaters today use atmospheric venting that exhausts the gas out of the home through a pipe.
