EZ Home SolutionsAfter a hail storm, I contracted EZ to install a new roof. The rep was easy to get ahold of 7 days a week, and ran my questions down fast. The crew did an amazingly quick job on both of my buildings, and after they had finished and left, a few laps around the property showed zero evidence that they had ever been there! Well done, EZ!- Thomas C.

Green Source Inc.Very happy with Greensource Inc services. I received a call back the next day when I inquired about the windows and siding. Prices were reasonable, quality of windows and siding are good. Installation is done very neat. Installers cleaned up afterward and left my place very clean. The installers were here every morning at 8 when it wasn't raining. They are great bunch of guys to have doing the work. I'll have them do work for me in the future and recommend them very highly.- Wendy C.

Ray Construction IncWe did not hire the least expensive, we wanted someone we felt good to hire! Not disappointed. The work was performed in a great time frame, ahead of schedule. They took time to explain what work was going to be done and what to expect. All workers were very respectful and professional! I felt very good about how they listened to my ideas and concerns. The end result was so good, we hired them again for some interior finishing trim work. They cleaned up after the job better than it was when they arrived. And the salesman called after they were done to be sure I was happy! And Yes! So Happy!- Tiffany D.

Budget Exteriors IncThe project went very well. A licensed contractor with 2 other men came to install the door. Both doors were extremely heavy. It took all of them to get the old door out and new door in. They measured the door and space and the contractor had the necessary wood and trim to fit the door exactly right. They put the new door in and finished the trim on the inside and outside. They put extra materials around the top and bottom too. They did calking also. They put up new oak trim for us and even stained it to match the other oak trim in our house. You could tell they had a lot of experience in installing heavy glass doors. We were very pleased. The new door looked great on the inside and outside of the house. They didn't leave any mess. They were very nice and professional. The men did all of this work in approximately 2 1/2 hours. The original contractor came on June 21, 2017. The door was installed July 27, 2017. We love our new door. We are very happy with our experience with Budget Exteriors. We would hire them again.- Dianne D.

Exterior ProI hired ExteriorPro, 3622 SE 30th Street, Suite 2, St. Cloud, MN 56304 to install new siding, fascia and soffit on my home. Their bid was generally in keeping with three other bids I had received, although not as high as one other bid. Josh Helberg was able to show me the kind of siding, color, and style I wanted. They ordered the materials, and began work on time. I was so pleased with the result I decided to also do the garage, and as the additional materials arrived they were diligent in completing the job. I found Josh and Jose to be pleasant to work with, respectful, and hard working, and I am very pleased with the finished product. Clean up following installation was well done. I recommend them without reservation.- Rosemary S.

Chando ConstructionIt went wonderful!! I would hire Chris and his crew anytime again. The job was done very good timing and very nice job. The warranty has paid off also. Chris did an overall look at the roof and siding to make sure all was done right and the clean up was done right. I was very impressed on how fast they got everything DONE in a proper timing. Was so very happy we didn't have to repair it all ourselves. Our house is a very tall two story and none of our family wanted to shingle it so Chris took care of that. Chris also took care of getting me the proper paper work to get to the insurance company. VERY VERY HAPPY CUSTOMER!! Thanks, Chris and your crew.- Arla S.

This is the second job, John, Daryll, and company have done for us. I like the way they respect our home and take extra steps to keep the job as clean and neat as possible. They have skills that make them perfect for remodel jobs on older homes as well as newer homes. They provide the best "bang for the buck" if you wish to hire pros. And since I myself do not possess the necessary talents to do such fine work, I'm glad they're nearby.

Jeremy and Jessica sold us the windows and installed them for us themselves. We could tell by his attention to detail that Jeremy has had a lot of experience in window installation. We observed every step of the installation process, and he explained to us exactly what he was doing and why. They stand by the quality of their work and encouraged us to contact them right away if we had any questions or concerns. We will definitely hire this local Minnesota business again if we choose to install more new windows in our home.

After water was running into the house due to ice dams they were able to come out the next day and get the water to stop comming inside. Thats the good. The bad is we were gouged to the tune of one thousand dollars for two hours worth of work. They did very little to clear the eves off, they still had a heavy sheet of ice. Its a week later and dams are back. They tried charging even more saying they worked longer than they did. Id say we payed 5x the value for 2/3 job.

Recent Review:
I was overall disappointed. We went with them as they were a "preferred recommendation for the insurance company" which I know better but frankly the folks I wanted to go with didn't show and the season was closing so we thought, fine, we'll go with JNS and the full warranty through our insurance etc. The estimate was the usual slick brochures and all that and they said they could work within the insurance company budget. They are very professional upfront going on an on about how great they are and how exceptional their workmanship and crews are. Well, I was a little suspicious as I was leaving for work the day they showed up and didn't see a crew that was any different than any of the other folks being used in the neighborhood. I completely understand that roofing is going to be sub contracted out, especially when resources are thin. However, the crew that they sent didn't seem to care at all about what collateral damage they caused and had a way below expectation quality of work. The fence we had just stained, sustained damage from the shingles being tossed off the roof for example. They destroyed the entry gate next to the garage and left giant tar marks on the newly painted garage. Under the eves of the garage were entire rows of nails that completely missed the stringer. The eves under the rest of the garage looked like some kind of weapon was being created. I get that nails need to hold the roof on but why didn't it look that way from the roof that was already on? I believe they have different lengths of nails, maybe I'm wrong. Oh, the part where they promise to pick up all the nails, yeah, I was still finding them scattered around the house and driveway about a year later. I saw areas of flashing that was just bent out of the way as well. They also left their leftover supplies in my front yard for a few days until I asked about that as well. So, here's why I feel compelled to actually right this review. I called up and pointed out what I was seeing from the ground and noted that my confidence in their overall ability was not very high if I was able to see all of this from the ground. I may have said something to the effect that if I wanted it to look like my buddies and I got drunk and decided to play a game of let's see if we can roof something, then I would have done that. They bill themselves as some kind of super high quality and you get what you pay for type of group. They honestly asked me what I wanted them to do about the stuff I was saying I noticed. I suggested they might want to fix it. They sent a guy out to take a look an agreed that there were nails exposed through the sheathing and the giant black tar smear and barely hanging on fence closer existed, so what did I want them to do about it. Again, fix it. They sent a guy out to "fix" stuff which was effectively a half "hearted" effort at scrubbing the black marks off, screwing the closer back into the fence, and grinding off one area of the nails that were exposed. The flashing they said wasn't their issue and my bid didn't include flashing in the budget. Fine, annoyed but not going to let it ruin my day. Cut to about a year later when I was up on the roof of the addition doing some tree pruning and I notice areas where shingles are popping up, shingles and metal scraps are in the gutter, flashing around the bathroom window is no longer holding the siding in, there are areas where the flashing was obviously just bent up and not laid down properly in addition to some other area's where the flashing had larger than an inch of gap. This time I called the insurance company directly and said I was done dealing with their Diamond Preferred roofing provider and since they recommended them and had the warranty, that they might want to get someone to take care of it or they could be on the hood for the claim a few years later when I find out how much wood rot needs addressed from the holes they opened up. Again, this was only what I can see from the ground and a lower part of the roof since it's a two story. I already had them out once to deal with things and they said nope, it's all good up there. It seems most of the reviews of the place are good and I don't doubt that they generally do decent work. However, my particular experience with them was so horrible, it still irritates me when I think about it. If I called up one of the many, many folks that were setting up fliers in the neighborhood and got a low ball bid from some fly by night roofing outfit, I would just say well, lesson learned. However, I went with the "We're the best, we treat things like they are our own project, we're local, if you have a problem well take care of it. and that's why you are paying so much." outfit so I do feel they should be held to a higher standard. Throughout the times I called them out, they never admitted outright that they were responsible for anything. It was like they were doing me a favor by sending someone out. I'm not a roofer by trade but I am a decent handyman and over the years I've learned a few things along the way, so when I was pointing things out, I wasn't trying to be nitpicky, I was pointing out plainly shoddy workmanship that I would have been ashamed of if it were mine.
