I'm working with the company currently. My contractor, Brendan Leahy (Built Right LLC, formerly Leahy Home Improvement LLC) brought them in to remodel two bathrooms. During the removal of the first vanity there was a "pin-hole leak" that was missed - soaking the ceiling below. The pipes were blamed (house is 20 years old, not ancient). The first time I used the shower they installed it leaked from behind the regulator into the wall and the ceiling below. The quality of modern fixtures nowadays were blamed. A tub was moved upstairs to another bathroom resulting in irrepairable damage to the tub finish as well as damage to the stair banister, walls and door trim. The quality of the tub was blamed. A different tub was ordered and the second tub was brought up stairs before being inspected or having the specs reviewed. It was found to be defective and have the wrong drain. The work could have been avoided if the plumber or contractor inspected the tub or reviewed the specs before bringing it upstairs. I've told the builder I want to work with different plumbers. I believe the problems would have been avoided or minimized if the plumbers were careful in their work. There have been $3000 in plumbing charge overages and the job has been delayed 3 months. The builder thinks they do a good job and he charges an additional 15% profit on the overages. Even when they reattached the water line to my refrigerator (after I had work done on the floors) they didn't check to see if there was a leak - they hooked up the line, put the refrigerator back, then turned on the water. The plumber said, "I tightend it really good so I know it won't leak." ??? He said this after he has already had two leaks in my house...?

I called this plumber to ask if they could install an aquastat and thermostat on my hot water recirculator.  The company said they would need to come out and take a look (they did not disclose there would be a fee for doing so).  The unprofessional worker they sent out was not really interested in speaking with me, but he did tell me he could not do what I requested be done.  He told me that my copper pipes needed to be replaced - which may or may not be true but it's irrelevant - this is not why I called this company.  The unprofessional worker then started gathering water for a water test.  I told him this was not necessary since I had already had my water tested by 3 other companies.  Again, I reminded him that I called the company out so that they could install an aquastat and thermostat on my hot water recirculator.  The unprofessional employee again told me they could not do this.  I asked why wasn't I told this on the phone and he just shrugged.  He left, and days later I get a bill in the mail for simply providing an estimate for work I did not need or request, as well as testing my water which I did not approve.
I contacted the company via phone and email and they have been non-responsive. The invoice they sent me stated that I would get water testing results in 2-3 weeks, so, I told them I would reluctantly pay once I receive the water testing results as at least I would be getting some sort of value for the fee I'd be paying.  However, they told me that they would not release the water results until I pay.  I do not trust this company, so I am refusing to pay until I get something of value in return (the water testing results - again, which I did not request nor approve).  In the meantime, they continue to bill me and have started adding 10% penalty charges.  I have spoken with Mr. McCormack, and have emailed.  They refuse to hear my complaints nor explain how all of this happened.  What arrogance.
I have used 5 different companies for various work (electrical, HVAC, plumbing) and have not come across anything like what I have experienced with Mccormack plumbing (undisclosed fees for providing estimates, performing unapproved / unrequested work).
I strongly recommend against using this company for any sort of plumbing work.

Work was done by men working for the provider, not the provider himself.  Although everyone was very personable, there were problems with the work.
For one, they accidentally replaced the old toilet, instead of installing the new one- which was sitting in a huge box labeled Kohler).  They had to come back another time to remove that old toilet again and replace it with the new one.
Also a toilet leak in the basement ceiling had stained the  wall below it, which I repainted after they "fixed it".  After a short time, the stains returned and I could see in the ceiling above that the pipes were still leaking from the toilet .  Once again, they had to come back to fix that leak. And again, I had to repaint the wall.  The first time they removed the ceiling tiles to get to the leak, they left it on the floor and never replaced it.
The guys also didn't clean up to my satisfaction either.

Before the visit, Brian advised that the job would include all of their time, including any efforts to expose the pipes. Since it was an easy job to pull off the paneling on the interior wall (and replace when he was finished), we did that ourselves. He arrived with a helper and had the job done within an hour (cut out and replaced the broken section). I appreciated that he walked through the job on the phone before coming out, which ended up saving us some cost on the carpentry side.

I've used Brian a few times and he's always top-notch. This particular time, he had installed a new toiled for us. All was well until new leaks developed. Brian came out promptly and discovered that the leak was caused by a defective part that he had bought new for us. He replaced the part but also found damage to the sub-floor. He had a contractor come out and re-do all the work the first contractor had done. I forget what I paid for the toilet -- it was definitely reasonable. This cost me nothing. Brian and his contractor put in a good deal of time, but Brian insisted that the supplier will take care of it. He made good on his word. Everything works great and we incurred no additional expenses.
I highly recommend Brian to anyone with a plumbing need. He's a good guy and does great work for a fair price.

Same day service - very responsive. He was here within a few hours of my calling. Brian was friendly, and professional the whole time. He stayed on task and finished in under an hour - no games and no jacking prices. His estimate and final amount were in sync. He took enough time, however, to ensure that the seal was holding and that everything was working properly before he left. I'd use him again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

Brian answered my call very quickly and made it a point to go to my grandmother's house the same day. Once there he assesed that what he could do may or may not work but also made a recommendation to another company that would be able to clear clogged drains beyond what he could do. He was very helpful, professional and honest and I cannot say enough how I appreciate that. I would recommend him to everyone and if needed, use his services again.
