"Excellent experience. The owner Kelly and the installer/plumber Chad were very professional and knowledgeable. Chad did a great job with my numerous plumbing issues: installed a new outdoor spigot, in the kitchen replaced faucet and added a turn off valve, replaced old tub piping and drain, repaired leaking bathroom sink drain and resolved issue with laundry room floor drain. "I called Northern first since they repaired a faucet conneciton for me last year. I received quaotes for three brands. A lter called gave me the model numbers so I could research them. I called another plumber for a quote to check prices. The prices matched for the same models. Since Northern did an excellent job previously, I engaged them. They showed up just at the end of the window they told me. Performed the replacement and clean-up in an hour. Very good work."

"Major sewer line backup while visiting my sister in Minneapolis. Had called a "rooter" service that was unable to fix the problem. They said it needed to be lined. High levels of gas exposure can be more dangerous, and high concentrations of methane—a component of sewer gas—can pose an explosion risk in enclosed spaces. If you smell sewer gas in your home, ventilate the area and call a professional to locate, assess, and fix the problem, as it will not go away on its own.

Rough-in plumbing can take anywhere from three to five days for a pro to complete. The exact time to complete this job depends on several factors, such as the size of your home, the number of plumbing fixtures, and how accessible the plumbing system is. If any complex plumbing problems come up during the process, it might extend the length of your project.

While you don’t have to run out and immediately buy a new toilet at the first sign of a clog, if the toilet keeps clogging because it’s a low-flow or poorly designed model, a new toilet may be the way to go. Bleach is generally not recommended for your shower drains. Although diluted bleach can technically help clean your drain, it will not unclog your pipes. In fact, bleach can harm your plumbing system because it’s so powerful. The bleach can change the color of your sink and even corrode metal pipes and fittings.

Often, people reach for bleach because it's already in their house. But it's worth getting a plunger or a drain snake for the job instead. It'll be a lot less money to buy a new plunger than to pay a plumber to repair or replace damaged pipes.
