"Mike did a very through job inspecting the house and then went over everything carefully with me. He spent a lot of time and even came back another day because initally he could not access the attic to determine insulation. Again he spent a lot of time and effort making sure I understood his remarks and concerns. He wrote a very detailed inspection report with many photos showing why he made the comments he did in the report. Because of his report and the sellers unwillingness to pay the entire amoutn for the problem areas I had to cancel my purchase agreement. Sure I was out the cost of the inspection but in the long run Mike no doubt saved me a great deal of money and huge headache and heartache!"

SafeGuard Home Inspection
SafeGuard Home Inspection
Licensed home inspector working for mainly buyers and sellers in the States of Minnesota and Wisconsin. Starting fee for inspections are $275.00. I am a 1 employee company which is owned by myself, not a franchise. All fee's are to be paid at the time of service's.
"In June of 2018 Steven Hatcher from SafeGuard home inspection came and inspected the home we were purchasing. The report he gave stated little to concerned about so we believed everything was great and went forward with the purchase. However when we then moved in it’s been nothing but problems and at this point it has financially ruined our family. The things he missed are staggering. Plumbing, electrical and structural. We got two licensed plumbers who are home inspectors and one electrician. All of them said he is either blind, ignorant and incompetent or he did a professional favor for the seller who was also a supposed licensed home inspector. Or all of the above. We can’t use the washer because it’s plumbed into the sump pump tied incorrectly into the sewer line. We can’t use the dishwasher because the drain line was put in the main sewer line and caulked to seal it, this was blatantly visible and not code. Shower put in upside down, sink not mounted or plumbed correct. Exposed wiring and so much more that it take a book to write it all down. He is not an inspector but a fraud and I’m sure lazy because he did a lousy job. We can’t drain water we barely can use one toilet. We are devastated. We talked to a lawyer but it would be over 20k, the work is over 50k or more. If he just did his job and caught even a fraction of the major code violations we would never had bought. We put our life savings in to buy and now we have no way to fix this we may have to just walk away. The inspectors we paid after the fact couldn’t believe he could be that bad. If we gotten a real inspector we wouldn’t be in this mess. We found out any fool can be an inspector in this state there are no requirements. We found out the hard way and it cost us everything. If we could give him lower than an F we would. Please don’t ever ever use Him."

SafeBasements of Minnesota Inc
SafeBasements of Minnesota Inc
Celebrating 30 years of service, our family has specialized in structural foundation repair and basement waterproofing. We have built a long-standing tradition of excellent work and a commitment to total customer satisfaction. Contact us today and let's put your problems behind you once and for all. Basement Waterproofing: We custom design the SafeBasements Waterproofing System to meet your specific needs. Once the system is installed, it takes care of itself, backed by our Lifetime Guarantee. All you need to do is make an occasional check to make sure the sump pump is operational, after all, it is a small appliance, Bowed Basement Wall Repair: We stabilize and in time straighten basement walls that have bowed and cracked due to poor grading and expansive soils. We address this problem using the state-of-the-art SafeBase Wall Anchoring System, SafeBase Waler System, or the SafeBase Carbon Fiber System. Settling Foundation Repair: To address the problem of foundations that have settled vertically or rotated outwardly, we use the SafeBase Foundation Piering System. This system utilizes proven engineering methods to secure and stabilize settling foundations by attaching SafeBase Brackets to the footing and hydraulically driving steel columns deep into the ground until they hit bedrock or equal load-bearing strata.
"I researched basement waterproofing solutions and was considering doing it myself. Then I found Safe Basements and read the literature about their product/process. To me, it seemed better than other similar products. I was surprised that they cover my place -- 2 hours into Wisconsin, or 3 hours from Litchfield. Brad came out to inspect the problems in my basement -- horizontal cracking, bowing, and water intrusion. He was able to explain the causes of those problems as well as others that I hadn't noticed. We agreed to pay for anchors to stabilize one wall that was bowing, and install drain tile and a sump pump. I'll be honest, I didn't shop around. I have no idea what other companies are charging for the same services. I normally get 3 or 4 bids or other opinions. I felt comfortable with the amount of research that I'd done, the knowledge Brad seemed to have, and the information about the products that I decided to hire Safe Basements without talking to other companies. I don't regret that decision. The wall anchor/stabilization crew called me before leaving Litchfield. Their ETA was pretty close to the actual time of arrival. When they arrived, we discussed the work being done. They did the work. They cleaned up. They gave me information about the anchor system and what I needed to do to correct the bowing and cracks. Everything was done as expected. The drain tile/sump crew was stuck at a previous job. They called me the day before (Tuesday) my job was expected to start to let me know there would be a delay starting my job. He then called in the middle of the start day (Wednesday) to let me know, they wouldn't be to my house until the next day. I was expecting a call between 7 and 8 on Thursday to let me know they were leaving Litchfield. Instead, I got a call at about 7:15 to let me know they were 15 minutes from my house. When they arrived, we talked about the work to be done, they cocooned my stuff in plastic, and they went to work. I think they worked until about 7 that day. They returned on Friday at about 8:30, having stopped to dump my concrete and dirt and to pick up gravel and concrete. They worked until about 10:30pm on Friday. I appreciated that they finished on Friday even though it was later than I expected. They cleaned up everything thoroughly, and walked me through the details of the sump pump and battery backup systems. Even though they'd driven a long distance, worked two very long days, and it was very late Friday, I didn't feel they rushed through. The job was complete. I think they would have stayed later if I'd had anymore questions. Unfortunately, one of the workers left his very nice tape measure, and I have not been able to get it back to him."
