"We couldn't run the kitchen sink or do laundry without flooding the basement floor. Adam fixed the clog within 30 min. Been in my 1947 home for almost 12 years struggling with drain issues and tried to handle on our own. Every year renting a machine from home Depot, lugging it to the basement and just clearing a bit of the drain. Other issues using snakes and cutting into pipes. Made it work. We had a major issue 4 years ago and had to look for help. American Sewer was out the same day and took care of business on the main drain. When other companies would not, saying "The pipe collapsed And it's a $7k job". Adam had been out 2 other times. Kitchen sink. Bathtub drain no issues in 2 years! Today with floor drain. This Company is really worth it. Changed my life finding them. Thank you."

"We had a clogged basement drain into which our washer drained. Dan phoned ahead to tell me that there was an opening and then he could come early if he wanted. Within 1/2 an hour he was here and clearing the drain. He went the extra mile to clean up the washer lint sludge. For good measure he had me run some water from the upstairs kitchen sink to make sure that everything was clear."

"The clog released during the inspection so no need to clean it. The plumber filled the sink and checked it several times to confirm it was clear. I have used Plumb Right several times. It is always a great experience."

"Fast and efficient. They sent someone out the next day and I know they were very busy. After he left I thought I found another drain in the floor. He came back but but I was mistaken. He just laughed and said it was fine. He wanted to ensue they got to everything. They could not have been more accommodating!"

"They did a good job cleaning the fireplace but the soot was still the problem. They did not have the knowledge to explain the soot. One told me that it was my fence (it wasn't) one told me the exhaust for the fireplace was too close to the soffit (it wasn't) Fixing both of those things for no reason at all would have cost me a lot of money. I called the people who installed the fireplace and the soot was caused by a ceramic log that had been improperly installed. I guess I would hire them again to clean the windows of the fireplace but not to diagnose a problem."

Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

There are many things that could cause your basement floor drain to back up. One significant cause of a drainage backup is flushing non-flushable items, such as wipes, paper towels, and facial tissue. Other causes of a backed-up basement floor drain include tree roots impeding the drain pipe or an accumulation of hair, oil, and grease.

DIY plunging or drain cleaning chemicals may help minor clogs, but professional hydro jetting ensures long-term solutions.

As a general rule of thumb, it’s best to clean your linear drain every two to three months to prevent debris buildup. However, if you notice it draining slowly or an odor from your drainpipes, it’s best to clear the clogged drain and maintain it more often. If you let a clog go for too long, you may have to invest in the price of professional shower drain cleaning, which costs about $225.

Pouring drain cleaner down a vent pipe isn’t recommended. First of all, unlike a clog in a sink or bath caused by such material as soap scum build-up, toothpaste, and hair, clogs in a vent pipe are likely the result of debris from trees or even an animal stuck in the pipe. Drain cleaners won’t be able to eat through this kind of material. The cleaner will only become clogged in the vent with the debris, causing even more problems.

Yes, you can pour water down the toilet to help it flush. For each flush, you’ll need 1 to 2 gallons of water for newer toilets or 3 to 5 gallons of water for older toilets. Rather than dumping the entire bucket in all at once, pour the water in slowly for the best results. If you’re pouring water down the toilet to help it flush after a clog, only use 1 gallon of hot water.
