"Had under cabinet lighting installed several years ago and recently part of lights went out and needed to be repaired. Randy's Electric backed up their workmanship and replaced the lighting and rewired the lighting so the lights would not go out as easily. This was at no cost to us. We are very pleased with the service at Randy's Electric and would highly recommend them."

"We needed several ceilings in our home wired and wafer lights installed. Shane and Justin did a great job. No complaints. They were punctual and communicative."

"I was looking for an electrician to help me out in my new (older) home. I needed an update on my lights in multiple rooms, wiring to a new panel, and switches/outlets replaced. Adam was very honest and straight forward with pricing and tasks he and his team were going to be completing. I was very impressed with Adam and his team on the communication aspect but also the professionalism. They installed new wiring for 3 ceiling fans with lights in my upstairs bedrooms, routed wiring for an exhaust fan in my upstairs bathroom, completed installation on exterior and interior 150 amp panel (needed to be replaced on the fact the panel was original to the home being built in 1977), and installed new lights in the living room and basement. I will be requesting the services of Adam and his team down the road when I need further electrical work done. If you want a quality electrician and honest work, Go Electric is the company to have work for you."

"My electrician Travis was amazing to work with. He didn’t mind me asking questions. He took his time installing my outlet so that I could use my dryer. I highly recommend Robinhood Electric. I will utilize again."

"The overall installation went through eventually after delays a few times due to various reasons, materials, wrong measurement, insufficient tools, insufficient labor. The price and communication were good. The workmanship was poor.
A few sliding rails were broken. After the first one broken, I talked to Gregg to use attention. It did not work obviously. "The piece is not needed" was his reply.
When the frames were put back, corners of the windows were not well aligned. Forces instead of careful alignment were used, had I not watched over all the time.
Seals of frames were not as tight as original ones.
The white frames had some bad scratches during the installation.

"Haley and Jonathan were an incredible help in finishing up some last minute projects around my townhouse as I prepped it for sale, including installing a smoke detector and shower head, tightening some faucets and doorknobs, and other miscellaneous projects. They finished everything on my list quickly, were really personable, had all the tools for the odd jobs on my list, and showed up on time. I will definitely give them a call next time I need some projects done around the house."

"Upon purchasing my home I decided to completely renovate the interior prior to moving in. I worked with Fair & Square Remodeling to update the kitchen, living room, dining room, bathroom and office to meet my family’s needs. A renovation of this kind takes time but they kept the work on track and it was completed within a week of the timeframe they initially gave me. I felt they were fair and easy to work with. Beth was very involved ensuring that things came together the way we discussed during the design phase. I would recommend them to anyone needing to do a sizable renovation."

Chandelier Installation questions, answered by experts

This is definitely a matter of personal taste, but certain spaces might be better suited to recessed lighting than others. Areas where you need good task lighting, such as the laundry room, kitchen, or home office could be good candidates for recessed LED lighting. You also might choose to use it for a sleek, subtle lighting option in a living room where you want to highlight other aspects of the space.

Wafer lights and can lights are both recessed lights, but each has its own unique look. Wafer lights have a thin housing that connects to wires directly. Can lights have a can-like structure and fit into the opening of a ceiling.

As you scroll through countless types of recessed lighting, look for features and light quality. Motion sensors can make your home more accessible. Smart-ready fixtures give you control at your fingertips. Light quality can set the mood. The package's label and the online specs for LED lights will display the lumens and Kelvin (K). Lumens tell you the brightness—650 for daylight, one for candlelight. Kelvin tells you the temperature—warm (below 4,000K), neutral, or cool (above 5,000K).

Flush mount or semi-flush mount fixtures are the best option for low ceilings. They closely hug or directly connect to the ceiling, offering ample room underneath so there won’t be a collision hazard when you’re walking through the room.

There aren't any hard and fast rules about how far recessed lights should be from the wall. It depends on your needs for the lighting. For instance, if you want to highlight a specific piece of art on the wall, you'll want to install lighting close to it. But if you want to illuminate an entire room, you might want your lighting farther from the wall.

A general guideline of one-and-a-half to three feet from the wall is a good place to start, but in the end, you want to make sure the lighting meets your unique needs.
