"We're more than pleased with the paver sidewalk Tom and Zach installed at our Kimball home. They submitted a detailed estimate, arrived at the agreed-upon time, completed the job according to our specifications, in the estimated time and for the estimated price. They transformed a dingy area alongside our house into a functional and attractive space beyond our expectations."

"I live on an embankment on Rice Creek in New Brighton and I wanted to brick pave my entire backyard . Knowing it would be an expensive project I needed to find the right team to get the job done correctly and the way we envisioned it. We consulted with 7 different contractors to share our vision and get their ideas on how to get the most of our area. Most contractors gave me their idea and opinions that did not quite match the design I had in my mind. Tom was amazing from the beginning and really seemed to understand what I was looking for. I still remember when he said "you want your entire back yard paved. I can do that for you." I began to believe he knew what we wanted and how he was going to make it all happen. Long story short he started the project one month ahead of time and had it completed amazingly fast despite the challenges of the project. which included a huge retaining wall above Rice Creek and a firepit on the edge overlooking the creek. With the excellence and efficiency of the team I was confident I had found the right people to do this most cherished home improvement. I wish I could show pictures of the amazing job Tom and his team did for my family and me. For anyone out there looking for a project to be completed please do yourself a favor and have Tom with Maltese Contracting take a look at your job and vision. I am confident you will not be disappointed."

"

We called 4 different contractors, John from Don Green's Dirt Service was the only one that called us back. He came out within the week and gave us a quote. It took time trying to discuss with 10 people. John stopped out for a second time and gave us 3 different options as price was a concern. Once we all agreed on price/work, John and his team were able to come out the next week and complete work. A few of us watched the whole process. You could tell how efficient they were as doing this many times. Work was completed in 1 day and for quote amount. There was extra gravel used but John did not charge us any extra. The road looks great and concerns were fixed. John and his team took the time to walk us thru the project and inspect before payment. They did such a great job on this we are having them back in the spring to clear part of our land.

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

Outdoor kitchens get wet and are sometimes next to pools. To avoid accidents, go with a non-slip material like concrete, brick, or rubber. Avoid materials like ceramic and porcelain, as they are known to be quite slippery. Wood and composite flooring can be slippery if untreated, so make sure to stain or finish these materials.

If pavers are uneven but not sunken, lift the affected bricks and check the bedding sand underneath. In many cases, simply smoothing out or adjusting the sand is enough to level them. Add or remove small amounts as needed, then press the pavers back into place and tap them with a mallet until they sit evenly with the surrounding surface.

If you miss the perfect time frame to trowel finish concrete, you likely won’t get the smooth, flawless result you’re looking for. In this case, you should contact a concrete professional or look to methods like sanding, grinding, or patching once the concrete dries. These methods will ensure the best final result for the lowest cost.

Yes, using recycled asphalt millings is an eco-friendly alternative compared to concrete. Millings are reclaimed pieces of gravel that are recycled into aggregate that can be used on driveways, patios, walkways, basketball courts, tennis courts, and more.

Yes, you can put thin pavers over a concrete driveway. However, it's always best to talk to a driveway installer before starting. You'll need to ensure that the concrete below is in good enough shape to hold the pavers and that the driveway will still meet local building codes.
