"I hired Wencl Plumbing to install a radiant heating system (boiler and baseboard radiators). The system install was poor to say the least, and it didn't work right from the beginning. I had to hire another shop to remedy all their bad work and now Wencl Plumbing is coming after me with collections agencies because I subtracted what I spent to fix their bad work from their final invoice (which wasn't enough to cover it anyway, so I'm in the hole from fixing their bad work and they're still coming after me). I'd steer clear of this outfit, no quality control whatsoever, full of...excuses, lies, and misrepresenting facts. Update Feb 2023: Currently I’m paying another shop to complete repairs to the boiler because when Wencl Plumbing installed the water softener (at the time of the boiler install) they never actually started it up. The boiler is now receiving repairs as a result of the softener not being operational, and now the softener may require replacement because it was never actually started and has been trying to run all this time. The hits keep on coming, thanks Wencl Plumbing. Update July 2024: I was contacted by a collection agency looking to collect money on behalf of this hack shop. I told them the same thing I told the last folks. The only way I'm giving that idiot a nickel is if a judge orders it, and there will be a countersuit! I spent a boatload of money to finish the job that Wencl was hired to do and could not and would not finish. Wencl Pluming is run by a hack, there's no quality control, no accountability, no professionalism. This is in regards to management/ ownership, I'm sure some of the folks working there are great. My beef is with Sam Wencl, the hack pin-head owner."

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

Knowing which type of bathtub faucet you have is the first step toward finding a replacement. The faucet can be deck mount—meaning installed on the tub itself—or wall mount—meaning installed in the wall. Some bathtub faucets are freestanding and installed on the floor. There are also single- and double-handle models. Some faucets have a diverter on the spout to move the water from the showerhead to the bathtub spout, while others have a third handle that acts as a diverter.

Emergency plumbing service costs an average of $200 per hour, but you could pay anywhere between $100 and $500 per hour, depending on when you call. You can expect to pay the highest prices if you run into a plumbing emergency on a major holiday, followed by weekends, and after-hours on weekdays. The more inconvenient it is for your plumber to reach you, the more you’ll pay per hour for emergency plumbing services.

Biodegradable drain cleaners use naturally derived ingredients that bacteria and other microbes can break down without being harmed. As a result, these ingredients are usually gentler on your fixtures and can be less harmful to the environment. Unlike traditional cleaners, DIY biodegradable cleaners use common household ingredients to clear your drainpipes, making the process safer for you.

Dirty, cloudy faucets have been stained by tap water, that is "hard water." The scaly deposits you're seeing are actually signs of calcium buildup. If you have visible cloudiness on the outside, there's a high chance you have calcium buildup in your pipes that needs to be treated.

To bleed air from the pipes, start by turning off the main water supply. Then, starting with the faucet that’s closest to the water valve, open each of your faucets halfway, making sure to open both hot and cold options if they’re separate. This allows the air to escape the pipes. Once all faucets are open, turn your water supply back on and let the water run for 10 to 15 minutes until the faucets stop sputtering.
