"Getting a walk in tub is expensive no matter who you use. My experience thus far is with installation only and I must say my install went great. It has been over a month and no issues with my tub so I cannot comment on repair process with American Standard."
"I had a few items that I wanted them to look at. The first was to put in a sump pump in my existing sump basket and then I wanted them to look at what it would take to help a cold crawlspace. The sump pump options were from the basement to the penthouse (pun intended). However even the basement was more than I needed. As far as the crawlspace, they also have multiple options but each included full encapsulation. I think encapsulation is a wonderful option if you have issues with moisture causing mold as well as high radon. However in my situation I did not have issues with either of those and the only issue that I wanted to resolve was the cold in the winter. I instead called a insulation company and had them come in and seal the Rim Joist and I will see if I need to take it further. I still have their information and if I want to continue down the path of encapsulation I will be reaching out to them to discuss. One thing that I found weird is if you search online in the MN area for other crawlspace encapsulation it may give you different company names but the phone number is exactly the same. So there must be some sort of "umbrella" company that based on what you are looking for either basement renovation, insulation or crawlspace encapsulation they point you to the correct company. What this does unfortunately is prevents you from getting a valid second opinion from another source.

"Hal Morris was easy to contact. He came out in a timely manner for a walk through of my wishes. When it came to the porch, I had some specific and some vague ideas. Hal listened to what I had to say and asked questions for clarification. I needed the bench my father built to remain. I wanted the general shape to stay the same. I needed the structure of the house where the porch was attached to be checked for decay. I needed the porch itself to be replaced. I wanted a trellis to grow grapes and give shade to the seating area. I have viewed Hal's work and wanted his style yet a little different to go with the style of my home. Hal did all that I asked in a timely manner and with good graces towards myself and my family. I highly reccomend Hal Morris."

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts
Acrylic bathtubs can last up to 30 years without major issues if they receive the right care and maintenance. They can last even longer but might scratch or stain as they age. The expected longevity is a major factor when investing in a new tub. Cast-iron tubs are the longest-lasting option.
While tubs are fairly sturdy, you may notice cracks or holes. This kind of damage can happen from someone accidentally dropping something heavy into the tub. You might also see damage if you drop something heavy into the tub over and over again (like your extra large bottle of body wash). While you might only notice a small dent at first, this can later turn into a crack or a hole.
Also, certain cleaners that are harmful to your tub can cause damage. And if you have a fiberglass tub, you might see cracks if it was not installed properly with the right support.
An alcove tub is designed to fit into a three-walled enclosure in a bathroom. A drop-in tub, on the other hand, is placed into a custom-built frame or enclosure. This frame can be fitted to an alcove, making a drop-in tub a viable alternative if you want a more custom or spa-like look. Because the frame is custom, drop-in tubs offer more design flexibility and a wider range of materials, such as cultured marble or tile, compared to the simpler acrylic or fiberglass of a typical alcove tub. The frame for a drop-in tub can also be placed anywhere in the bathroom it fits, not just in an alcove.
It’s substantially less expensive to reglaze a tub than to replace it. The average cost of reglazing a bathtub is between $400 and $700, but that range may be higher based on where you live and the type of tub you have. Meanwhile, if you want to replace the bathtub, you’re looking at $2,000 to $9,400, with the average close to $5,700.
The order of your bathroom renovation should prevent damage to the completed work. Start with demolition and removing the old fixtures. Then, address structural repairs or water damage, if needed. Next, tackle the rough-in phase for plumbing and electrical work, install waterproofing, and work on wall treatments like tile or paint. Install your shower or bathtub, toilet, vanity, and sink. Flooring goes in after major fixtures but before the toilet. Lastly, install new lighting fixtures, mirrors, and other finishing touches as desired.
