"We are extremely happy with how our new windows and new front door turned out. After some unexpected challenges with the way our home was built, our installation crew quickly and efficiently adapted to make sure our windows and door were installed with expert care. Every time we see our new beautiful picture window we are left breathless! And our beautiful front door is the perfect upgrade for the look of our home. Thank you RBA!"
"Our project was actually a crawlspace encapsulation. We have a lake cabin that was built in the 1960's. It had a dirt floor in the crawlspace with bare block masonry foundation walls. It also had old, damp batt insulation that was falling down from the joist spaces. American Waterworks came in, removed the old insulation (a nasty job!), laid down a 2 layer moisture barrier system and spray foamed the foundation walls and rim joist area. I can't believe what a difference this has made to our air quality, much warmer floors. We used to have to wipe down the windows every morning during the winter because of condensation. Not any more! I would highly recommend this company if you have the same needs!!"
"He did all his work remotely via the internet. It was all very simple from my standpoint since all I did was assist him in getting the link with my computer and he took it from there. The computer was so slow and overrun with adware that it was virtually unusable.when he started but since Jim applied his touch to it, it works great again. I will certainly call on him again when/if I have further computer problems and will recommend him to my friends. Some of the functions were not even working when he started and they are working now. "
"Work was fair, but didn't clean up the car very well (found debris in the heater/AC for weeks afterward). They also didn't do the top seal correctly, and when I went back to ask them to fix it they told me it was fine & refused. I went to another Harmon location (Roseville) and they looked at it right away with no appointment. The Roseville guy said it was terrible, and offered to fix it immediately. He had an installer fix it right there while I waited. I won't be going back to the Oakdale location any time soon, but the other locations will find my business again."
"At the end of summer, our neighbors put up a an ugly pre-fab storage shed directly outside our family room bay window. We were sad and upset about losing our beautiful view and having to watch them drive their lawn mower in and out and putter around while we were trying to relax in our home. Hal was able to give us privacy and make the view beautiful again by designing and building a wonderful multi-level fence with handmade trellis detailing. He also accomplished it all in the short time frame we desired. Now when we look out our window we enjoy Hal's artistry instead of seeing a fiberglass shed wall. Peace in the neighborhood again!"
"This was the service provided by AHS's contractor Myers Comfort Specialist. They would only provide a 2hr window with a 30 min notice of when they would be there. They agreed to come out between 3pm - 5pm that day; later around 4:30 I call to see when they would be out and discovered the tech had call the wrong number and they couldn't come out until the next day. The tech came out and diagnosed the problem, but he need a part. Later that day, when I called to inquire about a time frame I was told by a supervisor that the technicians do not turn in paperwork until the next morning and then the part would be ordered. I received a call the next day that the part was available, but they could only come out between 1pm and 5pm with a 30 min notice. I ask to schedule the first appointment for the next day and was told they would set up a time to be out between 8am - 10 am with a 30 min notice. At 10am the next morning, no call, no show. I called MCS and was told the technician was delayed at the warehouse picking up the part and would call shortly. (I'm not sure why the part was not picked up the day before when they said the could come out?) Also called AHS and explained the situation and asked to have the $75 service fee waved, which they agreed to do. The tech arrived about 11am installed the part and was finished about noon. Between the initial call and the repair visit I end up missing almost a whole day of work. "

The cost of window replacement is about $290 per window on average, with a typical price range of $180 to $410. However, costs can be as low as $100 or as high as $780 or more. The total price depends on several factors, including the size, type, brand, and number of windows being replaced. The frame material and glass type also significantly impact the cost.
Frame Material Costs (per window):
Aluminum: $275
Vinyl: $550
Wood: $800
Composite: $900
Fiberglass: $1,250
Glass Type: Simple double-glazed windows are cheaper ($3 to $6 per sq. ft.) than stronger tempered glass ($12 to $14 per sq. ft.).
Arched windows used to be most prevalent in more traditional home styles, like Spanish colonial and Gothic, but they are becoming increasingly popular in modern design. You’ll often find arched windows in new home builds across many styles, including farmhouse and contemporary architecture. This represents a more general trend toward more unique houses with interesting features.
Most standard windows can accommodate solar screens, but specialty shapes or non-standard frames may require custom solutions. It’s important to consult with a professional to ensure compatibility and proper fit for unique window designs. Arched, bay, and fabricated windows often need fabricated screens, which can increase costs and lead time.
Most modern egress windows installed in basements open outward into a window well, although some older homes have in-swing windows. Egress windows, like casement windows used in other parts of the home, such as bedrooms and bathrooms, may open inward, and these windows are often larger than outward-opening windows.
It’s time to replace your windows if most or many are in poor shape. In that case, new fiberglass windows will increase the energy efficiency of your home and add to its overall visual appeal, inside and out. Replacing your windows also can allow you to find a style that better suits the character of your home.
Constant fixes can be expensive over time, and by replacing your windows, you can be at ease knowing you now have windows that function properly and make your home more energy-efficient.
