"The group of guys came out and removed 7 trees from my property. They did such a good job even when the weather wasn't good outside. They were always in contact with me and to let me know what was happening. The clean up of my yard was done really well and looked better than expected. I would definitely hire them again. A board on board fence is more expensive than other types of privacy fences. That’s because these fences require overlapping boards, which drives up material and labor costs. On average, a board on board fence costs 30% more than an average wood fence.

You can use pressure-treated wood for a horizontal fence, but you’ll need to purchase a thicker and higher-quality variety to ensure it doesn’t sag or warp after you install it. Use #2 pine grade lumber and boards and thicker dimensional lumber, such as a two-by-six. You’ll also need to use stainless steel or hot-dipped galvanized fasteners, as the chemicals in the treated lumber will cause regular galvanized fasteners to rust.

Knowing how close to the property line you can build a fence is an important planning step in your fence installation project. In many U.S. states, you are allowed to build a fence directly on the property line as long as your neighbor signs off on the plan. But check with your state government because some states and municipalities require a couple of inches before your property line.
