"Zach took an odd job for me to move 7 yards of river rocks for my landscaping. After working his day job he came to our house, brought a friend and literally worked until he could no longer lift the wheelbarrow. He came back the next day to finish and he made sure every stone was in place. He was super polite and did an excellent job. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone."

"Removal was efficient even though there was a lot more concrete below ground than expected. Made a trip to the hardware store for extra sand to fill in the hole and even hooked me up with a new hoop!"

"They did a great job of removing an old fence and installing a 6' wooden fence around my backyard including a large double gate by my driveway. They were prompt and professional throughout and their crew were all very nice and polite while working through some brutally hot days. They also made the extra effort to check with my neighbors and tried hard to make sure they were good with what was happening as well. When there were some obstacles such as what we think may have been the remains of an old stone wall and even a boulder buried along the property line, they found a way to make it work which I really appreciated. I would hire them again and will be reaching out to them in the future as I figure out what other projects need to be done!"

Excavating questions, answered by experts

You can bury underground electrical wire six inches deep—but only if you use a rigid metal electrical conduit. For rigid, non-metallic conduits, bury the wire at least 12 inches deep. If using an underground feeder cable rated for direct burial, you'll need to place it at least 18 inches deep, as it has no conduit for extra protection.

Most professional excavation teams will charge between $8 and $15 per cubic yard. Calculate the cost by finding the volume of your pool—width x length x depth—and dividing it by 27. Then, multiply the price by the cubic yards from your equation. Budget for complications like a rocky lawn, hard-to-access pool area, or high local labor prices.

A perc test can take anywhere from one to eight hours to complete. The total time depends on factors like the amount of excavation required, the depth and width of the holes, and whether multiple test holes are needed. For a single hole, the process of filling it with water and monitoring the drainage rate usually takes less than an hour. Professionals can often complete the entire test in a single day. While it's possible to get results the same day, some companies may take a few days to provide the official report.

To determine whether your homeowners' insurance will cover crawl space repair, consider the cause of the issue. Repair may be covered if the problems were caused by an event that the insurance covers, such as vandalism or a windstorm. However, companies won't cover the repair if the issues are caused by neglect or wear and tear.

The cost to drill a well varies, with a national average of around $5,500 for a 150-foot well. However, prices can fluctuate significantly based on several factors, including your location, the required well depth, geological conditions, local regulations, and the specific drilling methods used. For the most accurate cost assessment, it is best to research and get quotes from local well-drilling professionals in your area.
