"The chemicals in our pool were way out of whack and Advanced Pools gave the best advice and what to add to the pool to get it back in order. Their chemicals are top notch, and their personnel are very knowledgeable. I will definitely go back again."

My name is Thad Reeder. My wife, Christina and I have lived in Vicksburg for about ten years now and LOVE this town! We were drawn here by the school system and the small town feel of Vicksburg. I have fond memories of coming to the car show with my father as a kid, and enjoy that now with my kids. We are heavily involved with a local Church and VCS. We provide complete automotive and truck diagnostics and repair. Anything from oil changes to Advanced diagnostics on those tricky problems that other shops can't seem to fix! 25 years of experience ensures that we can handle almost any problem you may have. Thad's History: My automotive career started at a very young age working in the garage with my Father. At about age fourteen, I started working with him at Reeder's Relics, building Street rods and restoring antique cars. After graduating High school in 1989 from Galesburg-Augusta, I went to Ferris State University where I graduated with high marks with a degree in Applied Sciences through their world class Automotive program. I began working for Otto Kihm Auto Service in 1991. After four years, I was recruited by Auto Analyst to be a Diagnostic tech (where I met the girl of my dreams, Christina! I am blessed to have a wife that loves cars and big trucks as much, if not more than I do!). Another four years passed and I went to work for a small independent shop. In 1999, I became the lead diagnostic and service technition at Kendall auto where I worked for fourteen years. After much planning and prayer, we decided it was time to open Thad Reeder Automotive! We strive to deliver quality, honest service at a fair price and would love to earn your business and more importantly, your trust. please call us to set up an appointment, or if you have a question. please feel free to stop in anytime and check us out!

Pool Construction and Installation questions, answered by experts

Depending on your budget, wants, and needs, a pool enclosure can be a worthwhile investment. It all comes down to how much you use your pool, and what it would mean to you to have year-round access to it.

If you know that you'll swim in your pool a lot, then having an enclosure means you don't have to worry about the weather. It's also a lot easier to maintain the water, because you don't have to deal with leaves falling into the pool, and the water's chemical levels tend to be more stable.

A retaining wall can only function as a fence if it’s high enough on all sides to prevent someone from accidentally falling into the pool. However, most retaining walls retain dirt, which means their purpose is not related to safety. There would need to be nothing on the other side of the wall for it to be considered a fence, but in that case, it wouldn’t retain anything and would cease to be a retaining wall.

In most states, it is a legal requirement to have a fence around your pool. Laws vary by state and city, so check with your state and local government for regulations specific to you. Additionally, most homeowners' insurance providers will require some type of fence surrounding a residential pool before they provide coverage.

Small animals, particularly rats and mice, like to burrow inside pool heaters. To keep them out, seal any entry points with caulk or steel wool. Then, place mothballs inside or around your pool heater. As a final measure of protection, you can cover the pool heater in hardware cloth or wood paneling to further block entry points.

Each state has its own regulations about pool fences, and laws to protect both swimmers and pool owners. Before installing a pool, you’ll need to research what the pool laws in your state, city, and county are to ensure that you’re adhering to the legal regulations. Inground pools typically need to have a fence around the entirety of them, but the rules regarding above-ground pools are less stringent. A good rule of thumb is to always have a fence around your pool to ensure safety for all.
