They handled everything from clearing out everything in the house to dealing with asbestos found in some basement pipes to reconstructing the rooms I worked primarily with Kasey who was always available for my calls and was extremely patient with several changes I made But everyone that worked with them was professional, kind and hardworking The office staff walked me through the insurance maze and handled most of it for me I HIGHLY recommend John Grace and would use them again in a heartbeat .- Kathy B.

K&S ContractorsI contacted Andrew at K&S for a roofing quote on my parents home. We recently moved them from Powder Springs to northern Michigan and had to put their home for 30+ years up for sale. Andrew was great. He worked with us and the insurance company to get the roof complete within our budget. He gave us a professional quote with all the options spelled out and pricing to match each option. I’ve been involved in many projects that I had to handle over the phone from out of state and could not have been more pleased. Andrew is easily in the top 5, if not top 2, of other sub-contractors I’ve dealt with over the years. He had to interact with my dad on several occasions, which can be challenging, and handled each encounter with patience and professionalism. They finished the roof on time and with in budget. Jacobsen Remodeling IncDwight Jacobsen came to our house, inspected our garage and then provided us with an estimate of the work to be done. We agreed on the price and day that the work was to be completed. Dwight and his co-worker arrived on-time the day the work was to be started. They completed the work on-time, making sure to clean-up the areas they worked in. Dwight even went as far as to vacuum our garage to make sure no nails would puncture our car tires. The electrical work outdoors was to replace an outlet box on a security pole, update the connector box attached to our house, and to reconnect the existing lighting in our garage. A new wall switch was installed as well. All work was completed on-time and to our satisfaction. We found Dwight Jacobsen to be a consummate professional, who employs quality craftsmen to work with him. Dwight pays attention to details and wants to make sure any job he undertakes is done to his client's satisfaction. We would recommend Dwight and his team to anyone considering a remodeling job who is looking for a contractor with integrity.- Michael S.

Jacobsen Remodeling IncContractor was not able to give quote/perform services. But Mr. Jacobsen AT LEAST returned my call to tell us he wouldn't be able to quote/perform services. That is a sign of professionalism! AND he even referred us to someone else. A simple task of returning a call even to leave a voicemail of yes or no ... seems difficult for OTHERS we've contacted from Angie's List. Whether contractors are busy right now, not a good sign in our book! So we give Mr. Jacobsen an A for his professionalism!- liz b.

Jacobsen Remodeling IncThis is the third (3rd) major remodeling project that Dwight Jacobsen has completed for us. The existing bathroom utilities had to be removed, including the vinyl flooring. Dwight and Chris (Son) accomplished this with little or no dust and clutter. The new bathroom contains a fiberglass tub and surround, enclosed by 3/8th inch frameless shower doors, new base cabinets with a Corian countertop. A new linen closet replaced an antiquated one. The floor covering was replaced with a marble toned vinyl to match the toffee colored cabinets. Also replaced was all the old cast iron plumbing that serviced the bathroom. The result is fantastic. Everyone that sees the finished bathroom are amazed at the design and functionality. Dwight and the sub-contractors did their usual outstanding work. Dwight is a master at design and task accomplishment. Dwight and the sub-contractors cleaned up after each task. Never leaving materials laying about the job site. I can't say enough about Dwight's excellent work ethic, and daily general attitude. Dwight did most of the work himself, and was on-site when the sub-contractors were working. I must commend the sub-contractors , the plumber, electrician, and the painter as they are very professional and are the best that I have encountered. When Dwight finished the previous projects, my wife (being a Grand-mother at the time) gave him a Grandma's Approval. She is now a Great-Grand Mother, so she is now giving him a Great-Grandma's Approval.- Ray G. K.

Northern Lights ConstructionHad the absolute privilege to work with Northern Light's Construction/Stephen. After getting quotes from several contractors in the Grand Rapids area not only was NLC more cost effective compared to the market but, was promised to be completed before a majority of them. In 3 months NLC did a complete remodel of our home. Stephens professionalism and, attention to details were flawless which resulted in great finished product that we are extremely happy with and, proud to call home. Mickelson Construction LLCWe interviewed several builders in the initial process of building our home. I think we knew almost immediately that we would pick Mickelson Construction. It was a pleasure to sit with Todd and gain the understanding of the home build process. He's been building homes for a long time and came highly recommended from a friend in common. Todd and his crew are very professional as well as easy to talk with. Our home build started in the winter months, through the holidays, inclement weather, and spring break. And through that, things went smooth and completion was on time. Todd manages his crew, sub-contractors and the process very systematically. He was always reachable and communicated everything along the way. We are very proud of our new home and the work that Mickelson Construction did for us. We have received many compliments on our home both inside and out from friends, neighbors and complete strangers. Like a lot of homeowners in west Michigan, the roof of my house sustained damage from a hail storm back in the spring. Thankfully I found Great Lakes Building Concepts on Angie's List. My experience with the company started with them helping me with my insurance company after they had already denied a claim; Aaron clearly found evidence of hail damage, and things were worked out. Great Lakes ended up replacing my roof, my metal carport roof, and my gutters. In all three cases, the work was done quickly, professionally, and the results are amazing. The gutters look much better and were installed in a better fashion than the old ones, and the roof and the venting for the roof is a huge improvement over the vent cap system on my old roof. Great Lakes uses quality materials, and is responsive to phone calls. The carport roof replacement was reasonably priced. I cannot recommend them highly enough, and they will be the first company I contact for future house projects like siding.

My original home is over 100 years old and we have done 3 major additions to it over the 40+ years we have lived here. We wanted the structural work done for the good of the house and outbuildings. We wanted the siding to both make the house look like one completed building and also to make it weather tight. Ed was super to work with. He listened closely the several times we met before i received the detailed bid. He was great in the creative and planning process. He came up with several ways to achieve what i wanted. He explained how he would install the windows to both be very attractive and weather tight. He was patient with decisions. He was willing to hold various types of siding in place so i could get a real idea of how the different options would work. His eye for detail is amazing and his desire for perfection is evident. The woodwork Ed did on the inside framing of the windows is beautiful. He has worked harder than any previous builder to be sure i was happy with the end result. On a day to day basis, Ed and his workers were professional and easy to "live with". They were always sensitive to avoiding more upheaval than necessary for such a long project. They cleaned up every night and left the place as neat as possible. They always informed me of their arrivals for the next day and of any delays. I would definitely recommend Northwest Tile and Interiors for any of this type of work.
